5 installations that prevent you from earning
Get Rich / / January 06, 2021
1. Money spoils people
A poor person is believed to be spiritually rich: he is honest, hardworking, generous and always ready to help others. But if he suddenly gets rich, he will instantly lose his high moral character and turn into greedy, a deceitful and unscrupulous money-grubber who disowns old friends, does not help anyone and only loves money.
It's hard to say where this idea came from. It is quite possible that she was born at the same time as the advent of money. Then she was picked up by religious texts. And, of course, the idea of the evil rich and the noble poor was replicated in classical literature or, for example, in propaganda materials.
This setup has really helped people in the past. It served as a kind of psychological protection for the poor, who, in dense, pre-capitalist times, could not break out of the boundaries of their class or caste by any labor. An untouchable person could not become a brahmana, and a peasant could not become a feudal lord, so the thought that money is really no good served as a kind of consolation for most people.
But now such a position only limits a person, prevents him from developing and earning, makes him feel ashamed of his desire to become richer.
Moreover, there is no evidence that poor people are better and more honest than wealthy people. Yes, having gotten rich, a person can really change his worldview and, as a result, break old ties. But he will not have any new qualities (those that did not exist in the "poor" times).
2. Wealth cannot be made honestly
Honest laborers will supposedly always earn little. And in order to make a fortune, you must definitely cheat, steal, make deals with your conscience, and maybe even do something worse.
Of course, there is a large grain of truth in this statement: we all see many disgusting examples when people make their capital in a completely dishonest way.
But it is a mistake to think that above average income is available only to thieves and scammers. Yes, in order to earn more, hard work alone is sometimes not enough: you need initiative, ingenuity, readiness for change, skill make connections, and sometimes just luck. But this does not mean that it is impossible to increase income in honest ways.
3. Money can not buy happiness
Other variations of this thought: "Money is only misfortune", "The rich also cry", "Happiness cannot be bought" and others. In any case, the message is the same: prosperity does not bring satisfaction to a person, but, on the contrary, rewards a whole heap of problems. Rich people always want more, they are insatiable, alone. Simple joys are beyond them.
But research suggests otherwise. Sociologist Grant Donnelly interviewedThe Amount and Source of Millionaires ’Wealth (Moderately) Predict Their Happiness more than 4,000 people and found out that the more impressive the bank account, the happier its owner feels. However, the origin of wealth is also important here.
Those who made their own money have a higher level of happiness than those who inherited it or won the lottery.
There are other works confirming that you can still buy happiness. Scientists from the University of California have found outWealth, Poverty, and Happiness: Social Class Is Differentially Associated With Positive Emotionsthat people with a higher level of income feel better and more confident than their poor compatriots. Moreover, the source of their happiness is in themselves: in pride in themselves, in their own successes, in deep inner satisfaction. Whereas people with low incomes tend to seek happiness outside.
4. Wealth will have to pay with something else
Certain higher powers zealously follow world justice and give all people good and bad equally. One was not given money, which means that they gave him health or a strong family. The other, on the contrary, was handed wealth, but made him lonely, miserable or sick.
This means that sooner or later you will have to pay for everything good, including money - this is the basis cheerophobia (fear of retribution for happiness).
As a result, a person does not allow himself to be happy, refuses interesting offers and lives in constant anxiety.
However, cheerophobia can and should be dealt with - for example, through meditation, journaling, or working with a psychologist.
5. You can only get rich when you are young.
Allegedly, there is some age, after which you can not even think about earn more. Conventionally, before the age of 40, there are chances to become richer, but when you turn 41, you need to immediately wrap yourself in a sheet and crawl to the cemetery, because everything is bad and in any case nothing will work out.
It really does get more difficult to achieve impressive success with age. We age, our metabolism slows down, worsensAgeing and the brain brain function: the reaction rate decreases, new information is perceived worse, memory becomes less acute. In addition, many people after 35-40 already have families and children, and with such obligations it is much more difficult to take risks and, for example, open their own business.
But this does not mean that you can only get rich when you are young. Here herefor example, the stories of Russian entrepreneurs who started a business in adulthood. And they did it.
