9 signs that you can't clean
A Life / / January 06, 2021
1. You don't wash rags
Rags for dust, floors, glass and in general any need to be washed after each cleaning, otherwise microorganisms will accumulate and multiply on their surface. It is pointless to clean the apartment with such rags.
How right
Wash the rags with laundry soap or other cleaning agent. If you are too lazy to wash the rags, use disposable all-purpose cleaning wipes. They are usually made from a non-woven material that does not leave lint on the surface.
2. You are not drying the toilet brush
If, after cleaning the toilet, you immediately put the brush back in place, then you turn it into a real kingdom of bacteria. The fact is that moisture is a comfortable environment for harmful microorganisms, so they multiply faster in it. As a result, during the next cleaning with such a brush, you will not clean the toilet, but transfer even more bacteria to its surface.
How right
Allow the brush to dry completely after use. Remember to periodically rinse the brush and storage bowl with an antibacterial disinfectant.
3. You only clean the floor where the vacuum cleaner can reach
If the area of the apartment is large, and the vacuum cleaner works from an outlet, it is likely that you simply cannot get to the far corners.
How right
Do not be lazy and change the sockets: your task is to clean the floor around the entire perimeter. If you don't want to suffer with the wire, choose a vacuum cleaner with a battery, for example VC 5 Cordless from Kärcher. It has three power settings so it can handle any kind of dirt, even pet hair.
VC 5 Cordless is compact for easy storage. It also has a bagless filtration system with built-in purification - no need to buy replacement filter bags.

4. You start cleaning from the floor
It is impossible to clean the apartment from the bottom up, otherwise the dust from the cabinets will fall on the floor, it will become dirty again and everything will go down the drain. This rule is taught from childhood, but many forget about it or simply do not follow it, because they put things in order in a hurry.
How right
The apartment must be cleaned from top to bottom: first, dust, windows and upholstered furniture, then carpet and floor. The only way.
5. You don't wash the floor under the furniture
Because you forget or think that since these areas of the floor are not visible, then you do not need to worry about them. Indeed, they do not spoil the appearance of the apartment, but it cannot be called perfectly clean because of this.
How right
There should be no clouds of dust and a warehouse of forgotten things under the sofa or wardrobe. Be sure to clean these areas when cleaning. In order not to suffer and not to crawl under the furniture with your hand, use a mop.
Cordless mop FC 3 Cordless Premium from Kärcher will cope with cleaning all hard-to-reach areas of the apartment: it easily crawls under the closet, allows you to clean the floor in the corners and at the edges of rooms. With the FC 3 Cordless Premium, there is no need to constantly rinse out the rag. The mop has a self-cleaning function: clean water constantly flows from one tank to the rotating roller, and dirt flows into the other. The floor dries up with a Kärcher mop in two minutes, so it can even clean parquet.

6. You don't clear everything
You probably won't forget to wash the stove, change the bedding and dust. But you can hardly say the same about cleaning shower curtains, hoods and seams between tiles.
How right
In order not to forget anything, try to make a list: analyze what is most often overlooked in your house during cleaning, and write it down on a separate sheet.
7. You clean your apartment too rarely
If you're cleaning up your entire home on a weekly schedule, it's time to rethink your cleaning approach. Surfaces get dirty at different times, so they need to be cleaned at different intervals.
How right
Microbiologist Jason Tetro and author of The Magic Cleaning. Perfect order in the house in 10 minutes a day "Becky Rapinchuk adviseHow often you should wash everything in your home, according to science to do like this:
- Change bed linen every one or two weeks. Bacteria, fungi and dust can accumulate on sheets and pillowcases, which can lead to acne and dandruff.
- Wash sinks once a day. Even if they are clean at first glance. Pieces of faeces accumulate on the sink in the bathroom (they get there when washing hands after going to the toilet), and on the surface of the kitchen sink you can find salmonella and E. coli.
- Vacuum the carpet and mop the floor once a week (more often if you have pets or if it's dirty outside). It is recommended to clean your kitchen floor several times a week, as bacteria from dirty vegetables or raw meat can get on it.
- Change the bathroom towel every few days and the tea towels once a week. Otherwise, they will become a breeding ground for bacteria.
8. You carelessly read the instructions for the cleaning products
If you are using too much floor cleaner, cleaning the stove with dishwashing liquid, or not keeping up the proportions while mixing a folk remedy, it's time to fix it. This disregard for instructions can result in:
- to poor-quality cleaning if you use insufficient product;
- to the appearance of plaque or stains, if, on the contrary, you overdo it;
- damage to furniture if you use the cleaning agent for other purposes.
How right
Read the instructions for each product in your home carefully. Pay attention to proportions, application method and exposure time.
9. You clean the apartment too quickly
For many people, cleaning is a hate occupation. I want to finish putting things in order as quickly as possible. But in fact, you can't rush. In a rush, you might miss an area, mix up a cleaning agent, or spread dirt throughout your apartment (for example, using a dirty rag).
How right
If you cannot find the strength to complete cleaning, try to divide the process into several blocks. For example, dust off first, then get some rest, then go to the kitchen, rest again, and so on. So you will treat each stage more carefully and all surfaces in your apartment will be clean.
If a lack of time prevents you from cleaning thoroughly, try abandoning a dozen cleaning agents and replacing them with one universal device. Steam cleaner from Kärcher SC 4 EasyFix removes up to 99.99% of bacteria without chemicals. It has several interchangeable attachments to help you clean the floor, cabinet surfaces, plumbing, stove and hard-to-reach surfaces, such as the joint between the bathroom and the wall.
