The story of a killer
It is difficult to imagine something more adequate and affordable than Xiaomi smartphones: from year to year the corporation churned out models, each of which could be described with the phrase "top for your money." However, about a year ago, Realme entered the market. This is the Oppo sub-brand, which ambitiously planned to compete with the Redmi line for the young, vigorous and not willing to spend two salaries on a smartphone - in general, for you and me. In a short time, the company really gained a certain popularity: the gadgets turned out to be powerful, they shot well and cost a feasible 15-20 thousand rubles.
The next step was the release of our own flagship. They became Realme X2 Pro - a little more expensive, but still affordable: from 33 thousand rubles. But the main thing is that the model came out incomparably more powerful than its predecessors, for which tech bloggers instantly dubbed the novelty the Xiaomi killer. And it seems that the high-profile title has quite good reasons.
Perfect appearance
The white box contains the required minimum. The smartphone comes with a transparent silicone case and a paper clip. It is worth mentioning the charging separately: it is super-fast in the gadget and received a power of 50 W - almost three times more than that of the iPhone 11 Pro Max. The phone is powered from zero to maximum in just 35 minutes.
There are four glass body options to choose from: glossy blue and white, or matt gray and brick red. The last two design versions will go on sale at a later date and will cost more. So, if you want to buy right now, you should take a closer look at the model in a discreet blue color, which can be found everywhere in stores.
The back panel is easily soiled, so it is better to put on the cover immediately after unpacking, but then the case will no longer spill beautifully. A slightly protruding four cameras are located in the middle. The main one shoots in a resolution of 64 megapixels, there is also a wide-angle 8 megapixel, a 13 megapixel telephoto lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
The phone received a drop-shaped cutout for the front and thin frames. On the left are the volume keys, on the right are the power button and a slot for two SIM cards. At the bottom, there is a headphone jack and a USB Type-C cable.
Realme X2 Pro fits comfortably in the hand and does not slip out. Looks expensive, but not pretentious - you are not ashamed to flaunt at a reunion if you want to show that you have achieved something in this life. But falling in love with the model is not only for the appearance.
Unexpected power
The model received a screen with a frequency of 90 Hz, due to which the animation looks lively and smooth: just right for games. The wide Super ‑ AMOLED ‑ display is ideal for watching movies. The stock of brightness is large, in addition, you can adjust the temperature: make the colors warmer or colder. There is also a "Tenderness" mode, which reduces the brightness. Dim lighting can reduce flickering and, with it, eye strain. We do not recommend using your smartphone at maximum brightness: here it is the wildest.
The Realme X2 Pro can work in split screen mode - a familiar feature that comes in handy if you're used to doing ten things at once. Turns on by swiping up with three fingers.
The smartphone has stereo speakers, the sound is loud and surprisingly clear. Sound quality does not degrade with headphones.
The model received a cool eight-core Snapdragon 855+ processor and really just flies while playing games and taking photos. The smartphone has 6, 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 64, 128 and 256 GB storage. There is another secret bonus for those who like to play: the device has an advanced cooling system, thanks to which it does not infuriate with constant overheating.
The phone is capable of playing video for 18 hours without interruption and the same amount of talk time. In this case, no additional make-up is required.
The device has NFC.
In terms of security, everything is excellent: there is unlocking by face, PIN-code and fingerprint. The fingerprint scanner is built into the screen and works very quickly.
Cool camera
The main 64 megapixel camera takes pictures without any complaints: these are clear, bright and very high-quality images. You can turn on wide-angle mode to capture more subjects.
The smartphone has 2x optical zoom, which brings you closer with minimal loss of quality. At 5x zoom, photos look bearable too. There is also a maximum twenty-fold approximation: the drake floating on the Moscow River became more noticeable, but the image came out blurred. It will not work to consider small details in this mode.
The model perfectly shoots in macro mode: the needles at the tree are visible and even the flickering light bulb did not turn into a blurry spot.
The phone also shoots well at night: portraits, buildings, and macro. And yes: this is a cool model for those who like to take languid selfies in the dark and not turn into a green man.
Selfies to a 16 megapixel front-facing camera are clear and detailed. In portrait mode, the background will be slightly blurred, in standard mode it will remain three-dimensional.
Shooting in portrait mode and without
The device shoots video in 4K format, quickly focuses and does not let trembling hands ruin all the beauty. For the quality of shooting, we give the model a four with a plus.
What is the result
Realme X2 Pro looks like a perfect killer: with a nice design, fast and not missing a beat. From striking right to the heart, of course, ultra-fast charging and a screen with very smooth animation, which appeared due to support for a refresh rate of 90 Hz.
We believe that the praise of the model is fully justified: for 32,999 rubles you get a real flagship with all the necessary functions in a cool design. And it seems that now we will hear "top for their money" not only about Xiaomi.
