Telegram now has video calls on Android and macOS. So far only in beta - Lifehacker

In June, video calls became available in the beta version of Telegram on iOS, and now the feature has appeared on Android and macOS. You can only video chat with those who also use the latest beta builds of the messenger. Here's how to do it.

On Android

• First you need to install the latest beta version of the messenger. At the time of this writing, this is Telegram 7.0.0 (20549). You can download it from App Center site.
• Install the application and log in to it.
• To make a video call, simply select the desired contact and click on the call icon, which is usually used for voice calls.

When making a video call, you can use the buttons to change the camera, mute the sound and image.

On macOS

• To turn the standard Telegram application into a beta version on macOS, you need to go to the section settings "Advanced settings" and at the very end of the list activate the switch "Install beta versions ".
• After the messenger will automatically install a fresh test build and you can make a call through the contact menu.

If you are using the new Telegram application, developed specifically for macOS, then you can download its fresh beta version from App Center site.

A global release of video calls for all platforms may take place soon. There is no exact date yet.
