Xiaomi has introduced a new amateur radio Mi Walkie Talkie Lite. This is a more affordable version of the original 2017 Mi Walkie Talkie. Since then, the company has updated the lineup with Walkie Talkie 1S and Walkie talkie 2 in 2018 and 2019, respectively.
The new 3 W product works within a radius of 1–5 km in open areas and 1–3 km in an urban environment. The built-in 2000 mAh battery lasts for 5 days in standby mode or 10 hours of continuous talk. For comparison, Mi Walkie Talkie 2 with a 5,200 mAh battery works within a range of 6 km and lasts up to 13 days in standby mode. For recharging, the Lite version uses micro USB, while the second generation uses USB-C.
The device weighs only 163g and is made of lightweight plastic that is resistant to drops and scratches. This model does not have a display, to switch the frequency (there are 16 channels available in total, which can be shared with other users), you need to connect the radio to the Mijia / Mi Home application on your smartphone.
Xiaomi Mi Walkie Talkie Lite is already available in China at a price of 129 yuan (approximately 1,400 rubles). On AliExpress, the radio is already appeared, but costs 2,120 rubles (or 3,860 for a set of two). More lucrative offers should appear on the site later.
