Although officially Microsoft announced only Xbox Series X, many leaks (including data from the official documentation) almost certainly confirm the existence of a simplified version - Xbox series s codenamed Lockhart. TweakTown Edition collected leaks put together and published a list of the characteristics of the younger model in the form of a comparison table with the Series X.
Tom Warren, Senior Editor, The Verge confirmed these characteristics - and it was he who added that the Series S video card will have 20 computing units (their number was not indicated in the original table).
While both consoles use the same processor and memory standards, the obvious downsides are the younger model is a less powerful video card, less RAM and no floppy drive: it is rather a successor Xbox One S All-Digitalthan the regular One S.
The publication also announced a possible release date for both consoles - it could be November 5 or 6 this year. This is based on two leaked images. On the first is the box for the delivery of controllers for Series X and Series S with the inscription "Do not exhibit or sell until November 6, 2020". The second is a screenshot of the Microsoft warranty page for the same controllers, indicating that the validity period is until November 5, 2021.
