At the presentation in China, Huawei announced new flagship laptop MateBook X (2020). It received an almost borderless touchscreen with a resolution of 3000 × 2000 pixels, coverage of 100% of the sRGB color gamut and a contrast ratio of 1500: 1. A blue light filter is provided to reduce eye strain.
The body is made of high quality aircraft grade magnesium-aluminum alloy. With dimensions of 284.4 × 206.7 × 13.6 mm, the laptop weighs about 1 kg. Four color options will be available: Frost Silver, Interstellar Blue, Green Mountain Daisy (turquoise) and Cherry Blossom Powder (pink).
The laptop received a new advanced touchpad, capable of recognizing the force of pressing and providing feedback using vibration. Under it is an NFC chip for quickly connecting Huawei smartphones and transferring data. The proprietary Multi-Screen function will also allow you to control your smartphone directly from your laptop.
As for the filling: the top-end MateBook X received a productive Intel Core i7-10510U chip with a clock speed of up to 4.9 GHz and a passive cooling system. The more affordable version of the laptop is equipped with a Core i5 processor. The amount of RAM is 8 or 16 GB, SSD-drive - 512 GB. In terms of autonomy, it is claimed up to 9 hours when playing video or working with documents.
The laptop comes with four speakers for surround sound, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 support modules, and a fingerprint scanner built into the power button. The front camera is in one of the keyboard keys. Available connectors: 2 × USB Type-C and headphone jack. The charger in the box is 65 W, and the adapter weighs less than 100 grams.
The new MateBook X costs from 7,999 yuan (≈85,000 rubles) - this is for a version without a touch display with an Intel Core i5 chip and 8 GB of RAM.
