If, after updating your smartphone or tablet to the beta of the next version of the system, you decide that it is better to wait until the developers release the final version of iOS / iPadOS 14, you can always return to the stable version - at the time of this text release, this is iOS / iPadOS 13.5.1. This is how it is to do.
Important: if you have updated your smartphone and watch to iOS 14 and watchOS 7 respectively, you will need to downgrade to watchOS 6 before thathow you roll back your iPhone - it won't work in reverse order.
1. Download the latest firmware image for your smartphone version. You can do it safely here - select your device type and the latest software version.
2. Disable Find My iPhone. To do this, go to the settings on your smartphone, click on your profile icon, go to the "Find My iPhone" section and switch the top slider to the inactive position.
3. Connect your smartphone or tablet to your computer.
4. Open the iTunes app - or, for macOS Catalina or Big Sur, the device tab in Finder.
5. In device view, click the "Restore iPhone ..." button while holding down the â„ button on Mac or Left Shift on Windows.
6. The window for selecting the firmware file will open. Find the image you downloaded earlier and double click on it to open it.
The computer does the rest. Do not disconnect the device from the PC or put the computer into sleep mode until the process is complete. You can disconnect the device when the welcome screen appears. After that, it will be enough for you to restore files or applications using a local or iCloud backup.
