Technical analyst John Prosser who is true predicted release date new iPhone SE, announced the upcoming renaming of the iOS operating system to iPhone OS. And this rebranding looks quite logical, given the names of other Apple operating systems: WatchOS, macOS and iPadOS.
Dude I got a random email saying Apple would rename iOS to iPhone OS and the iPhone to Apple Phone and I didn’t believe it ...

The receipt of the same information was announced by the chief editor of the XDA-Developers portal Max Weinbach, who also added that the iPhone can also be renamed - smartphones can be called Apple Phone.
Such changes may be related to Apple's desire to consolidate the name of the company itself in the naming. However, the rejection of "iPhone" in the name of the devices does not really fit with the preservation of "iPhone" in the name of the system.
However, if any of these rumors are true, then Apple should announce the rebranding at WWDC 2020, which is scheduled for June 22. During this event, the announcement of major updates to all operating systems of the company is expected, including iOS 14, which can turn into iPhoneOS 14.
