Dropbox launches password manager and file safe

Dropbox told in the official blog about the new features that will become available to users in the near future. Here are the main innovations:

• The new Dropbox Password feature works the same way as 1Password and LastPass. It stores all your passwords and autofills them for logging into apps and websites. It will be available on Windows, Mac, iOS and Android. Thanks to encryption, Dropbox won't have access to your data. So far, Password is being tested on a small group of users.
• Vault allows you to add another layer of protection for your most important files. It's kind of like a safe inside your main vault - it can be password protected. It is assumed that in such a safe you can store, for example, confidential documents - and give access to it to people whom you trust. At the same time, you can share access only to this section, and not to your entire repository. The beta version is already available to some Plus users.
• Windows and macOS now have cloud backup. Selected folders will be automatically uploaded to the cloud and kept in sync to update data. This feature is now in beta for all Dropbox Basic, Plus and Professional users.

• A new Dropbox Family subscription is available. With it, a group of up to 6 users will receive 2 TB of cloud space. Each user will have a separate account with access only to their files, but they will also be able to create shared folders that all family members can see. This subscription is now in closed beta and will be available later this year.
