During the pandemic, online sales of everyday goods have increased significantly in Russia. The situation is quite expected, given that offline trade of non-essential goods is prohibited in cities. In this regard, Rospotrebnadzor published 5 tips to help reduce risks when ordering online - both in Russian and foreign stores.
1. Be careful when buying cash on delivery, especially if the sender is an individual
You will not be able to check the purchase before payment, and all the costs of returning the goods if it does not suit you, fall on the buyer. Moreover, when you return, you risk not getting your money back.
2. Check the seller or store before buying
Make sure the site has the seller's details, look at the reviews. Be especially vigilant if a site offers a stunningly low price, but the only payment method is cashless.
3. Do not transfer money to a bank card of an individual
And before paying, check if you will receive an electronic payment receipt. The electronic check must arrive at the email address or phone number you provided. It must indicate the place of payment - the site where you made the purchase.
4. The buyer has the right to refuse the goods before receiving it and within 7 days after
If you have not received information about the procedure for returning goods of good quality, you do have the right to refuse the goods within 3 months (in accordance with clause 21 of the "Rules for the sale of goods by remote means" approved by the RF Government Decree of September 27, 2007 No. 612).
5. When buying through an aggregator site, you can make a claim to him
You have the right to complain if the online store contains incorrect information about the product, or if the order was not delivered within the time specified at checkout.
