News / / January 03, 2021
On April 22nd, Earth Day is celebrated all over the world - an initiative designed to honor nature and remind about environmental problems that need to be addressed. Usually on this day, public demonstrations of millions are organized, trees are planted and lectures are given, but in a pandemic this is impossible. Here's how to get a little closer to nature while staying safe.
1. Watch documentaries
You don't have to leave home to learn more about our planet. You can revisit documentaries that you liked as a child (if you still have cassettes or discs and a player, able to reproduce them) or turn to the Internet, where thousands of hours of cognitive content.

2. Play with Google Earth
On the official Twitter blog, Google offered to celebrate this day by traveling around the world. To do this, just open Google earth in the Chrome browser and click on the dice icon. You will find yourself in an arbitrary point on our planet and you will see a brief information about this place.
Also, on the start page search engine there is a new mini-game-doodle about bees. To start it, you just need to click on the bee.
3. Learn more about ecology and current trends
If you want to not only have fun, but also make the world and your life a little better, today is a great day to start. Read articles or listen to lectures on conscious consumption, and learn how to generate less waste and sort your waste properly. Yes, now is not the best time to get to the nearest separate collection container if it is not in your yard, but plastic and glass can be sorted and put aside until the end of quarantine - so that later you can take out everything immediately.

4. Build a sculpture in Minecraft
Sounds strange, but one of the initiatives organized in honor of Earth Day 2020 was the proposal of the British exhibition center Jupiter Artland to make a sculpture in Minecraft. We are talking about a separate server, on which professional sculptors have already created their monuments. You can visit this server, look at existing creations, and maybe build something of your own. The organizers offered three themes to choose from: "Art", "Nature" and "Education".
The winner's work will remain on the server along with the work of professionals, and he himself will have the opportunity to visit the exhibition center with his family for free.
To participate:
- Launch Minecraft: Java Edition.
- Select the multiplayer game mode and go to server 146.176.251.22.
- You will see a walled exhibition area - nothing can be edited in it. You can build your masterpiece only outside, but the winner's work will be transferred to the main complex.
- To participate in the competition, fill out this form and send to [email protected].
Of course, it is not necessary to participate in the competition - you can simply invite your child to look at the beautiful works of other people and build something of their own to keep him busy for a couple of hours.
5. Visit the virtual art exhibition Earth Day Art Model 2020
