On April 14, OnePlus held an online presentation of its new 5G flagships. OnePlus 8 Pro differs from the younger model not only in size, but also in more advanced stuffing and cameras. In terms of design, the changes are minimal: perhaps, the selfie camera from the pop-up module has moved into the hole in the screen.
OnePlus 8 Pro
The large flagship has a curved 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz (switchable to 60 Hz) and a resolution of 3168 x 1440 pixels. A hole with a diameter of only 3.8 mm houses a 16-megapixel selfie camera.
The main camera consists of 4 modules: a 48 megapixel main camera, a 48 megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 16 megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and a 5 megapixel color filter lens. The latter is responsible for the filters and effects that can be used while shooting. Hybrid Image Stabilization allows you to shoot high quality and smooth videos handheld. Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos technology are responsible for surround sound.
Inside - a Snapdragon 865 processor and 8 or 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, depending on the modification. UFS 3.0 storage capacity - 128 or 256 GB. The 4 510 mAh battery supports 30-watt Warp Charge fast charging, which allows you to charge your smartphone to 50% in about half an hour. In addition, the smartphone has finally received wireless charging - Warp Charge 30 Wireless with a capacity of up to 30 W. There is also a reversible charger for charging gadgets.
OnePlus 8 Pro will receive three colors: green, blue and black. The back panel fits comfortably in the hand due to Frost Glass. The smartphone is also protected from moisture and dust according to the IP68 standard. Out of the box, the new product runs on OxygenOS. The new version has a lot of changes, including dynamic wallpapers that change depending on the weather outside the window.

The display of the younger model is slightly smaller - it has a 6.55-inch AMOLED - but, unlike the Pro, it is not curved at the sides. And it's really compact: the smartphone is only 72.9mm wide - just 1.5mm wider than the compact iPhone 11 Pro with a 5.8-inch screen. The resolution is 2400 x 1080 pixels and the refresh rate is 90 Hz. The selfie camera is also 16 megapixels.
The processor and memory options are identical here, but the camera is already 3-module: the main module of 48 megapixels is complemented by an ultra-wide module of 16 megapixels and a macro of megapixels. The battery is slightly smaller - at 4,300mAh - but also supports 30W fast wired and wireless charging. It can be charged up to 60% in half an hour.
Unlike the matte older model, it uses double-layered glass, which creates an interesting gradient on the back.
