There have been a lot of rumors lately about the upcoming budget headphones Redmi AirDots 2, and now Xiaomi really presented a new model - but it is called Redmi AirDots S and received a minimum of differences from first generation.
The design of the new item is completely similar to the usual AirDots, even new colors have not appeared: there is still only strict matte black. But inside there were several important changes.
Firstly, headphones are now connected not according to the main-additional scheme, but on an equal footing. This allows you to use any of the headphones in mono (not just the right), and the connection process should be easier. After using only one earbud, if you insert a second earbud into your ear, the system will automatically switch to stereo playback.
Secondly, there is a new game mode with minimal audio latency. It is activated by triple pressing the button on the earpiece. Otherwise, everything is the same: they connect to a smartphone via Bluetooth 5.0, use 7.2 mm drivers and work with voice assistants (including Google Assistant and Siri). Autonomy is also at the level of the first generation: 4 hours from a single charge and up to 12 hours with a charging case.
Despite the improvements, the price tag of Redmi AirDots S does not differ from the first generation: it's only 99.9 yuan, or about 1,030 rubles. The novelty will go on sale in the near future in China, but the exact date has not yet been announced.
