The problem was found on iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and 3, iPad Mini, and iPod touch 5.
Macrumors Edition drew attention that the Internet began to actively complain about the problem with FaceTime. Users write that after updating their devices to iOS 13.4 and macOS 10.15.4, they can no longer make audio and video calls on iPhones and iPads with older OS versions.
The issue has affected iPhones and iPads running iOS 9.3.5 and iOS 9.3.6. Apple's official website has a solution for a similar problem - the company advises upgrade to a newer OS version, however, for some devices iOS 9.3.5 and iOS 9.3.6 became the latest supported software. These include: iPhone 4S, first generation iPad Mini, iPad 2, iPad 3, and fifth generation iPod touch.
It is noteworthy that there are no problems with FaceTime on older operating systems. This is probably just a bug of the latest version, and not a deliberate deterioration of outdated gadgets.
