CNET tested for strength Galaxy S20 Ultra from Samsung is the most powerful and most expensive smartphone in the lineup. Importantly, this is the only model in the S20 family to feature the toughest Corning Gorilla Glass 6 on both sides. The younger models have a back panel covered with Gorilla Glass 5.
Most of all, the authors were interested in how the 6.8-inch display and the massive camera module behave. Since the smartphone comes with a protective film glued on and the manufacturer strongly recommends not to remove it, CNET took the advice and left it in place.
However, neither the film nor Gorilla Glass 6 could protect the smartphone: the rear glass shattered at the first fall on the asphalt from a height of just over a meter. Interestingly, the camera was not affected - which is surprising considering how much it protrudes from the surface. She survived all 5 falls - which cannot be said about the glass panels.
The conclusions can be made obvious: if you are ready to spend 100 thousand rubles on a smartphone, get ready to spend a little more on a case and good protective glass.
