Vivo presented new concept smartphone APEX 2020. He received a number of the latest technologies that may become the norm for flagships in the coming years.
The first such development is a 16 megapixel selfie camera built into the display and not having a separate hole. It is literally hidden under the matrix and becomes visible only when activated. The manufacturer assures that in the area of the photomodule the light transmission of the display is increased by 6 times, which guarantees no distortion in the pictures.
The display itself, due to the edges bent at an angle of 120 °, completely covers the side edges of the device. Accordingly, instead of the usual volume and power buttons, there are touch zones. Sound is transmitted through vibration of the bezel.
Another unique technology is the stabilization system of the main 48MP camera. It works on the same principle as monopod stabilizers, that is, even when the device is tilted and rotated, the frame itself will not “float”. This system is 200% more efficient than conventional OIS-mechanisms in any other smartphones, says Vivo.
The second camera, APEX 2020, received a 16 megapixel sensor and movable optics, allowing the use of continuous optical zoom in the range of × 5-7.5. This feature is called Continuous Optical Zoom. In terms of video recording, the device can surprise with Voice Tracking Auto-Focus technology, which allows you to focus on a specific sound source.
Another interesting feature of the novelty is the world's fastest wireless charging with a power of 60 watts. The 2,000 mAh battery can be charged with it in just 20 minutes (the battery capacity of the flagship itself is not named). In comparison, of the commercially available smartphones, the fastest charging of this type is now at Xiaomi Mi 10 - it is 30 W, which is half that.
Inside, the APEX 2020 has a Snapdragon 865 processor, 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. At this stage, the smartphone is just a concept designed to showcase new technologies. However, usually the features of devices in this series are gradually moving over to the flagships of the NEX line, which will already be available for free sale.
