Huawei continues its series of announcements - this time it showed the Sound X smart speaker for the international market. To develop it, the company teamed up with the French audio equipment manufacturer Devialet, which is known for its top sound systems.
The novelty has received a system of two 3.5 ″ subwoofers (total power 60 W) and proprietary Push ‑ Push technology from Devialet, which suppresses vibration without sacrificing low frequencies. The speaker supports surround sound and adapts to the location: regardless of whether it is in the center of the room or against a wall, the sound will harmoniously fill the entire room. Two speakers can work together as a stereo system.
In terms of design, the Sound X resembles HomePod from Apple: This is a rounded cylinder wrapped in a speaker grille with a color display on top. The column supports gesture control: to stop playback, just put your palm on the top of the device. Thanks to NFC OneHop technology, for synchronization, simply touch the smartphone with an NFC-chip to the special icon on the speaker case.
It should be noted that the new product can be considered smart only conditionally: unlike its Chinese version, which comes with a voice assistant, international is not friends with "Google Assistant" or Siri - in fact, it's just a high-quality wireless speaker that will look beautiful on shelf.
Huawei notes that the case is splash and smudge resistant, but the rating for dust and moisture resistance has not been specified. The official price and launch date are also unknown, but the Sound X is expected to arrive in Europe before the end of 2020. In China, a speaker costs 1,999 yuan (≈18,500 rubles), and a stereo system costs 3,888 yuan (≈35,970 rubles).
