One Twitter user shared his new optical illusion. He depicted two cubes that seem to rotate in three-dimensional space. However, are they really moving?

In the comments, users were confused. Many have realized that the figures are actually static, but the brain seems to be trying to convince you. Such optical illusion is achieved by flickering the background and changing the color of the outline of the cubes from black to white and vice versa. One gets the impression that this is a play of light and shadow when rotating the figures.
To accurately see the rotation, cover the shapes with your hand, leaving only one vertex of any cube visible. Take a closer look at it and see how the outline color changes.
Approximately the same principle works optical illusion with a ship in a painting by the Dutch artist Ludolf Bakhuisen.
