Galaxy Z Flip officially presented

At the Unpacked presentation, the Korean Samsung announced the fashionable foldable smartphone Galaxy Z Flip - the successor to the Galaxy Z Fold in a new form factor.

The main 6.7-inch display with an aspect ratio of 22: 9 has a resolution of 2636 × 1080 pixels and is made using Super AMOLED technology. The external display is also Super AMOLED, but much more modest in size - only 1.06 inches diagonal. It supports Always On mode for a constant time and notification display, and is protected from external damage by Corning Gorilla Glass 6 - the most durable from the manufacturer.

Inside is an 8-core processor (the manufacturer does not indicate a specific model, but judging by the characteristics and earlier leaks, this is a Snapdragon 855+), 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. A double battery with a total capacity of 3,300 mAh with support for fast wireless charging (power not specified) is responsible for autonomy - including reversible.

The smartphone received a dual camera, consisting of a standard and wide-angle modules, each with a resolution of 12 megapixels. The camera can be used even when the smartphone is closed by using the mini-screen to view the preview. The front camera is 10 megapixel.

The feature of the smartphone has become Flex Mode - a mode in which the device is open 3/4 and allows you to use the smartphone in the manner of a laptop: the upper panel acts as a screen, and the lower one is interactive. The presentation showed that it is very convenient for taking selfies, but more obvious use cases are for games and working with text. In the near future, the function should work on YouTube.

The smartphone will go on sale on February 14 at a price of 119,990 rubles (the official price in the US is $ 1,380 or 87,400 rubles). In Russia, purple and black colors will be available, and in some countries an additional gold model will be presented.
