The line of affordable smartphones from Xiaomi has expanded with the Redmi 8A Dual model. Its main advantages are extremely low price, new ergonomic body and high autonomy.
Redmi 8A Dual is equipped with a 6.22-inch display with a resolution of 1520 × 720 pixels and Gorilla Glass 5 protective glass. The smartphone has a plastic case with Aura X Grip design. The manufacturer notes that the special texture of the back panel provides better grip and prevents fingerprints and smudges. P2i nano-coating is provided for splash protection.
The new body is not the only difference from the base model Redmi 8A. The novelty also stands out with an improved main camera, represented by two sensors: 13 megapixels and 2 megapixels. The camera supports scene recognition for adjusting shooting parameters, portrait mode and even Google Lens for identifying subjects in the frame. There is one camera at the front, 8 megapixels.
The 12nm Snapdragon 439 chipset is responsible for the performance of the device, complemented by 2 or 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. There is a microSD card slot. Autonomous operation is provided by a 5000 mAh battery with support for 18 W charging via USB-C. The smartphone can act as a power bank by charging other gadgets.
Redmi 8A Dual supports VoWiFi (calls over Wi-Fi) and runs on Android 10 with MIUI 11 shell. There is no NFC in the device. Model starts in India at a price of 6,499 rupees (≈5,800 rubles). Perhaps the smartphone will soon appear on the European market.
