The original PlayStation recently turned 25 and Lifehacker asked among your readers which games for consoles from Sony (regardless of generation) you love the most. The comments are a mixture of timeless classics and high-profile recent releases. Collected 10 games and series that were mentioned most often.
Crash Bandicoot
The line was born in the days of the first PlayStation and is still one of the most beloved series for many players. A platformer about the adventures of the reckless marsupial badger Crash features a fast pace and throwing challenge by difficulty: run a level without memorizing traps and not adjusting to timing, not work out. Over the past couple of years, the character has reminded of himself again: re-releases of the first three parts (N. Sane Trilogy) and Team Racing (subtitled Nitro-Fueled).
The last of us
In Russian, this game is published under the title "The Last of Us". From combining survival horror with stealth action, you rarely expect a deep story and well-written characters that narratives really develop, change and become familiar - but the creators of The Last of Us managed to make history exactly such. While the whole world is waiting for the second part, we recommend that you go through the first, if you have not done so yet.
Horizon zero dawn
An unusual setting is interesting here: a post-apocalyptic world in which Machines dominate, and a few people stray into primitive tribes. A feature of the game are amazing robots, for the creation of which the designers even turned to several Dutch universities, including the Robotics Department of the Delft Technical university. They were looking for a way to "improve" real animals - and the Cars that we see in the game are really amazing.
God of war
A series of games based on ancient Greek and Scandinavian mythology recently got a second wind with the release of God of War (2018). At the heart of all the games in the series is Kratos, a Spartan warlord who fights other heroes and monsters.
Resident evil

Silent Hill
Another popular horror series originally from Japan, the early parts of which largely shaped and determined the development of the survival horror genre. Among others horror movies Silent Hill is distinguished by a well-developed atmosphere and an unusual concept: the creators decided to move away from the typical "cinematic" intimidation in favor of the psychological aspect of horror.
Tekken

Gran turismo
The famous series of races, the main feature of which is the use of models of real-life cars. New titles continue to roll out with the release of Gran Turismo Sport, the seventh game in the series, to be exclusive to PS4 in 2017.
Heavy rain
One of the early works of Quantic Dream (Detroit: Become Human) in the genre interactive cinema. This is a detective story in which you have to solve the case of a serial killer. The story has several endings - the choices made by the player influence the outcome. For a long time it remained a PlayStation exclusive, but in the summer of 2019, Heavy Rain and other games from the developer became available on the Epic Games Store, so now you can play it on PC.
The Witcher 3
Well, what rating of games in 2019 is complete without the adventures of the witcher Geralt? Besides PS4, this RPG is available on Xbox One, PC, and even Nintendo Switch - but according to rating Metacritic, the version for the PlayStation remains the most popular - which confirms the readers' choice.
