Cat is known not only for heavy equipment, but also for rugged smartphones. The Cat S32 debuted at CES 2020. Here you will not find a screen for the entire front panel or four camera lenses: the emphasis is on battery life and resistance to harsh conditions.
The smartphone received a 5.5-inch HD display covered with durable DragonTrail Pro Glass. This display reacts even to wet fingers and gloves without a special touch-sensitive coating. It is protected from water and dust according to the IP68 standard (it will survive 35 minutes immersion in water at a depth of 1.5 meters).
The durability of the case meets the military standard MIL SPEC 810G - it is not afraid of falling from 1.8 meters onto a steel block. The outer surface is reinforced with rubber pads: the smartphone will not slip out of the hand and will not need an additional cover.
Inside - a 4-core processor MediaTek Helio A20, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of built-in. The main camera is 13 megapixels, the front camera is 5 megapixels. Due to the rather mediocre characteristics of the battery with a capacity of 4 200 mAh, there is enough "at least two days" of autonomous work.
The smartphone was priced at 299 euros (approximately 20 330 rubles). It will go on sale later this year.
For those who like the idea of rugged smartphones, but want something closer to the usual modern models, Samsung released new Galaxy Xcover Pro.
