Published renders and characteristics of the clamshell Samsung Galaxy Z Flip

Together with the flagships Galaxy S20 Samsung is set to unveil its new Galaxy Z Flip foldable smartphone in February. On the web already appeared its quality renders and features.

As the sources point out, the Galaxy Z Flip, like the new Motorola RAZR, belongs to the class of expensive fashion devices. Its main screen has an aspect ratio of 22: 9 with a diagonal of 6.7 inches and a resolution of 2636 × 1080 pixels. In the center at the top it has a hole for the front camera, like the models Galaxy Note10.

It is also noted that the Galaxy Z Flip display supports HDR10 + and has a special ultra-thin glass coating, which should provide significantly better protection than a film on Galaxy Fold. The fingerprint scanner will be located on the side.

The smartphone also has a second screen, it serves to display the time and notifications. It was placed on the side of the main camera on the outer surface of the lid, protected by Gorilla Glass 6. The diagonal is 1.06 inches, and the resolution is 300 × 116 pixels. This is a Super AMOLED panel with 24/7 activity mode (Always On).

The main photomodule includes two cameras with a resolution of 12 megapixels. One of them is supplemented with wide-angle optics (123º). The front camera has a resolution of 10 megapixels and has autofocus. Inside, the smartphone has a top-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory. There will be no 5G support.

The battery capacity of the Galaxy Z Flip will be 3,300 mAh. There is support for 15W fast charging via the USB Type-C port and wireless power up to 9W. With all this, the smartphone weighs 183 grams, and the thickness of the case when unfolded is only 7.2 mm.

It will work on the basis of Google Android 10 with the new shell Samsung One UI 2.0. The release of the device is scheduled for February 14, 2020. The estimated price is about 1,500 euros (≈103,000 rubles).
