The popular Wordpad application, which has been in Microsoft's operating system since Windows 95, rarely gets updates. And the next version brought far from the best changes.
A Twitter user discovered that WordPad now suggests switching to full-fledged Word - seemingly provided that the system could not find installed programs from the package.

In total, the author of the post found 6 variations of such advertising: the system advises not only Word, but also Excel, Powerpoint and Office Online. Earlier in December, similar ads began appearing in the calendar and standard email client - though they advertise the Outlook mobile app.
