The 2010s are drawing to a close and the famous TIME magazine is taking stock. Edition published a list of the top 10 games of the decade - no division by place. This is what it looks like.
Grand Theft Auto V (2013)

No one would argue that PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds made battle royale popular, but Fortnite turned them into a real cultural phenomenon. The game began as a sandbox in which you had to escape from monsters and build defenses, but the release of the free battle royale after the success of PUBG changed everything. The game became incredibly popular and Epic Games made so much profit that it even launched its own platform.
Dark Souls (2011)
Over the past 9 years, the name Dark Souls has become a household name. Many have tried to recreate a similar level of difficulty - difficult but passable and rewarding - but to no avail. It is to this series that Bloodborne owes its existence - which abandoned the medieval aesthetics of Dark Souls in favor of Lovecraft gothic and horror. Dark Souls' inspiration is seen in the recently released Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order with lightsaber battles with an emphasis on blocks and loss of progress after death.
League of Legends (2009)
The game that set the pace for the development of MOBA in subsequent years was released in 2009, but only became popular a few years later. It is now the gold standard for competitive gaming, with LoL championships attracting as many spectators as the American Super Bowl.
Pokémon Go (2016)
For several months in 2016, the whole world swallowed pokemon fever - everyone was looking for a way to download the game while it was unavailable in Russia, and took to the streets to find rare monsters and capture stadiums. Even if you yourself have not played, you have at least heard about Pokémon Go and saw players on the city streets or posts about it on social networks. Now the hype has subsided noticeably, but Niantic still regularly releases updates, and they appear in app stores all new games with similar mechanics.
Minecraft (2009)
Another 2009 game whose golden age was in the 2010s. Even in 2019, it remains the most watched game on YouTube, surpassing Fortnite with over 40 billion views. Now this is the second best-selling game in history - it is second, oddly enough, only to Wii Sports for the Nintendo Wii. With regular updates and increased interest in the game, TIME predicts that impact Minecraft will not weaken in the next decade.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (2011)
Since its release in 2011, the game has not left the top sellers and is now available on almost all possible platforms. The main advantage of Skyrim (besides being able to be anyone) is its open and incredibly detailed world. Numerous modders also contributed a lot to the success, and to this day add new content to the game.
Portal 2 (2011)
For Valve as a developer, the decade began with the release of the now legendary Portal 2: an addictive game that took everything that made the first part so popular and improved it with a nice plot and improved portal mechanics guns.
Disco Elysium (2019)
Released just a couple of months before the end of the decade, Disco Elysium was a great conclusion to it. It looks and feels like a game from the past, but at the same time showed how the games of the future can be.
