Samsung held a presentation in Vietnam at which it showed two new A-series products with a similar design: Galaxy A51 and its "older brother" Galaxy A71. They received frameless screens with a hole and unusual main camera modules.
Samsung Galaxy A71
The novelty received a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. A fingerprint scanner is built into the screen, and a 32MP selfie camera is housed in a circular hole. The heart of the smartphone is the Snapdragon 730 with 6 or 8 GB of RAM, depending on the modification. The volume of the drive is 128 GB.
The main feature of the novelty is the main camera: it consists of a 64 Mp main module, a 12 Mp wide-angle (123º) module, a 5 Mp macro and a 5 Mp depth sensor. It supports Super Steady Video technology - essentially an electronic gimbal for capturing video on the go.
The 4,000mAh battery supports fast charging up to 25W via USB-C. There are three slots here: two for SIM cards and one for micro SD. Unlike the flagship Galaxy S10 and Note10, this smartphone (like the Galaxy A51) retains the headphone jack. Out of the box, the device runs on Android 10 with Samsung One UI 2.0.
Galaxy A71 will be released in black, silver, pink and blue. No details on pricing or release date yet.
Samsung Galaxy A51
The second novelty is a slightly simplified version of the Galaxy A71. It is also slightly smaller: the screen is 6.5-inch (but with the same resolution and also Super AMOLED), a fingerprint scanner and a selfie camera are similar. But the processor here is different: Samsung Exynos 9611, made using a 10-nm process technology.
The main camera differs only in the main module: in the Galaxy A51 it has a resolution of 48 megapixels instead of 64 megapixels, other modules are identical. The battery capacity is also 4,000 mAh, but the maximum fast charging power is 15 W. With its help, you can feed the phone for 3 hours of video viewing in 10 minutes.
Three versions will be available: 4 + 64 GB, 6 + 128 GB and 8 + 128 GB. The cost is known only for the average model: 7,990,000 Vietnamese dong, or approximately 21,900 rubles. Pre-orders will open on December 16, the new product will go on sale on December 27.
