Melon jam with lemon

Melon jam is an unusual, but very tasty and beautiful preparation for the winter. Citrus zest and juice add interesting flavor and aroma.

Ingredients
- Melon 1 kg
- Sugar 500 g
- Lemon 1 piece
Cooking method
Peel the melon from the skin and seeds. Cut into small cubes.
Place in a saucepan, cover with sugar and leave for 30 minutes. During this time, the melon will start juice.
Grate the lemon zest with a fine grater. Squeeze the juice out of the citrus.
Add the zest and juice to the saucepan and stir. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.
Cook over low heat for 10 minutes. Then remove from the stove and leave under the lid for 4 hours.
Repeat the ten minute boil and cool down once.
Then bring to a boil again and simmer over low heat for 5 minutes.
Put the hot jam in sterilized jars and twist.
Turn the blanks over, wrap them with something warm and cool. Store in a cool, dark place.
