Fish casserole with mashed potatoes

Under a layer of potatoes and melted cheese, there is a fragrant filling with béchamel sauce and parsley. Fish casserole turns out to be tender and very tasty.

Ingredients
- Fillet of white fish 500 g
- Milk 600 ml
- Large potatoes 6-8 pieces
- Salt to taste
- Butter 50 g
- Flour 1¹⁄₂ tbsp. spoons
- Parsley 4-6 sprigs
- Hard cheese 100-150 g
- Fresh or frozen green peas to taste
- Fresh, frozen, or canned corn to taste
- Fresh or frozen broccoli to taste
Cooking method
Place the fillets in a baking dish and cover with milk.
Place in an oven preheated to 200 ° C for 30 minutes.
In the meantime, peel the potatoes and cut them into large pieces.

Boil it in salted water until soft.
How and how much to cook potatoes
Transfer the milk from the mold to another container. Disassemble the fish with a fork into fibers.
Drain the water from the potatoes. Add 30 g butter and some milk and mash in a puree. Salt if desired.
In a saucepan, melt the remaining butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour with a whisk until smooth.
Gradually pour in the rest of the milk, stirring constantly with a whisk.
Add chopped parsley and cook for another 5 minutes.

Pour the sauce into the fish dish, salt and stir.
You can add peas, corn, or finely chopped broccoli to the filling.
Spread the mashed potatoes on top and cover with grated cheese.
Bake for 30-40 minutes, until the top is browned. Rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
