Turmeric gives the dough a rich yellow color. And the lemon cake turns out not only very beautiful, but also incredibly fragrant, tasty and tender.

Ingredients
- Eggs 4 pieces
- Sugar 170 g
- Butter 200 g + for lubrication
- Lemon 1 piece
- Vanilla sugar 10 g
- Flour 270 g
- Turmeric ¹⁄₂ tsp spoons
- Baking powder 1 tsp the spoon
- Salt 1 pinch
- Powdered sugar 4-6 tbsp. spoons
Cooking method
Separate the whites from the yolks. Beat the last with a mixer, gradually adding sugar. You should get a white mass.
Add softened butter and mix with a mixer.
Add finely grated lemon zest and vanilla sugar. Pour in the juice of half a lemon and whisk again.
Sift half the flour with turmeric and baking powder.
Pour this mixture into the egg and mix with a mixer until smooth.

Then add the remaining sifted flour in portions.
You may need less flour, depending on the quality and size of the eggs. Focus on the consistency of the dough: it should be quite thick.
Add salt to the proteins and beat with a mixer until fluffy white foam.
Insert it gently into the dough.
Grease a baking dish with butter and add the dough to it.

Place in an oven preheated to 170 ° C for 40–55 minutes.
After about 35 minutes after starting cooking, periodically check the readiness with a wooden stick. If it comes out of the cake dry, then you can take it out.
For the icing, combine the juice of the second half of the lemon and the icing sugar.
While the cake is still warm, brush it with icing.
