Bring fish stock, soy sauce, sake and mirin to a boil. While the whole thing is heating, combine the ingredients for the meatballs (chopped pork and onions) and shape them.
Add chopped daikon and carrots to the pot and cook over medium heat for 5-10 minutes. Put the meat balls in the same place and cook for another 10-15 minutes.
Add chopped mushrooms, onions, and a handful of chopped cabbage each. Cook for 10 minutes.
Reduce heat and place chopped tofu in a saucepan. Cook for another 5 minutes.
Season with salt, pepper and soy sauce to taste.
