Homemade cream cheese is a worthy alternative to the purchased one, and it is prepared with just a couple of ingredients. The recipe is very simple - even a novice cook can handle it.

Ingredients
- Yogurt without additives 550 g
- Sour cream with fat content from 20% 370 g
- Greens to taste
- Garlic to taste
- Citrus zest to taste
- Spices to taste

Combine yogurt and sour cream. You can also add herbs, garlic, citrus zest and various spices at this stage.
How to make homemade yogurt

Take a colander or strainer and cover it with four layers of cheesecloth.

Pour the yoghurt and sour cream mixture there and cover with the edges of the cheesecloth. Put a plate on the surface of the mixture, and place any weight on it.
In this state, you can leave the cheese for a period of four to 12 hours, depending on how firm you would like to see the finished product.

Store homemade cream cheese in an airtight container. The freshness period of the product is determined by the shelf life of the yoghurt and sour cream.
