How to prepare barley grits

Put a piece of butter in both salted and sweet porridge immediately after cooking and let it brew for 5-10 minutes. This will give it a delicate flavor and aroma.

Place the egg in a heavy-bottomed saucepan and cover with liquid. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Then reduce it and cook for about 20 minutes until thickened. Stir the porridge often, especially if you cook it with milk.
How to cook barley in water or milk in a slow cooker
Pour cereals into the multicooker bowl and fill it with liquid. Cook porridge in water for 25 minutes in the "Cooking" or "Groats" mode.
Cook porridge with milk or mixture in the "Milk porridge" or "Porridge" mode for 35 minutes. Pre-grease the bowl with butter in a circle below the sides so that the milk does not escape.
How to cook barley porridge in water or milk in the microwave
Place the cereals in a large, deep microwave dish. Pour in liquid and cover. Microwave at full power for 20-25 minutes, or until porridge thickens. Stir the cereals after 5-10 minutes from the start of cooking. Then do this every 2-3 minutes.
