"The first good superhero film of 2020": what the first viewers write about the film adaptation "Mulan"

A remake of "Mulan" is being prepared for release - without Mushu and with much more attention to military action. The premiere of the film in Russia will take place on March 26, but a preview has already passed in the USA. Here's what early audiences think of the film.

Mulan is one of the finest film adaptations of classic Disney cartoons. It pays homage to both the 1998 original and the original ballad, modernizing both the issue of women's rights and famous scenes at the same time. At the same time, the film stands out for its excellent shooting and staging of battles, which are reminiscent of films of the wuxia genre [a genre of Chinese fantasy with an emphasis on martial arts].

I had a lot of fears going into #Mulan, but the balanced screenplay, powerful performances & gorgeous cinematography laid most of them to rest.
Yifei Liu is a force of nature, Gong Li's sorceress is an awesome addition & I squeed over Yoson An.

I had a lot of fears when I went to Mulan, but the balanced script, great acting and amazing camera work showed that most of these fears were unfounded. Yifei Liu is amazing, Long Li's witch was a great addition, and I literally squeaked from Yosung An [played by Cheng Honghui, who serves alongside Mulan]. This movie is one of my four favorite Disney remakes.

The film "Mulan" turned out to be delightful, vivid, emotional - and it differs from the animated version. It's a brand new thing and I love it - it's a more mature Disney movie, with excellent production and combat choreography. Director Niki Caro and lead actress Liu Yifei made this picture amazing.

Is Mulan the first good superhero movie of 2020? It seems to me so. She flies above rooftops, runs on walls, shoots a bow - and overall she is insanely good. The picture reminds you to be true to yourself. The girls will surely dream of becoming like Liu Yifei.

Mulan is a nice adaptation of the cartoon. The creators paid tribute to Chinese culture and spirits. The costumes and action scenes look great. They also made several changes for modern audiences - for example, the character Gong Li shows a different female perspective on history.
