5 reasons to upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10
Vindovs Technologies / / December 30, 2020
January 14, 2020 Microsoft stopped supporting Windows 7. This means that the system has stopped receiving updates. Soon, many essential applications will become incompatible with it, and without security patches, it will be vulnerable to viruses and other threats. It's time for the "Seven" to sink into history.
However, many people are still not ready to switch to the modern Top Ten and continue to use the old software. According to statistics resource NetMarketShare as of April 2020, Windows 7 is still installed on 29.43% of PC owners. That's almost a third of people on the Internet!
If you're still running an old OS, here are five good reasons to finally upgrade.
1. Safety
Since Microsoft has ended support for Windows 7, the system is very vulnerable and will become more vulnerable in the future. Security holes will not be closed with updates, making the G7 an ideal target for viruses and cybercriminals.
So you have to use the old system at your own risk. Or upgrade to Windows 10 and forget about viruses and other threats.
2. Software compatibility
Try running the latest version of Google Chrome on Windows XP - nothing will work. It is completely unprofitable for software manufacturers to develop new versions of their products for old platforms.
That is why a large number of programs no longer work on XP, and the same fate awaits the seven.
The same Chrome will be updated on Windows 7 only until 2021. Then you have to sit on older versions of the browser that are incompatible with modern sites. And also use unsupported instant messengers and an outdated office.
3. New games
We should also mention computer games. With Windows 10, you can play both new and old games and experience established classics. But with Windows 7, everything will be sad with new products.
Already, some developers list Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 as the minimum system requirements for their games. New technologies, such as DirectX 12, are already not supported in Windows 7. If you are even a little interested in games, Ten is your choice.
4. Iron support
Windows 10 works with drivers much more efficiently compared to the "Seven". It loads all the necessary components on its own, dealing with the hardware without user intervention.
In Windows 7, everything is much more complicated - probably everyone faced the need to connect a LAN cable after reinstallation and download Wi-Fi drivers to a laptop via a wire.
But the most annoying thing is the lack of new technologies in Windows 7. For example, on Intel 7th generation and newer processors, the "Seven" operates in emulation mode, which negatively impacts Wi-Fi, graphics performance, and security by officially declares Microsoft.
So on new hardware, Windows 7 will work worse than Windows 10 - if you are so attached to it, you will have to forget about upgrades. If you want to use the processor and other components to the fullest - upgrade to "Dozens".
5. New opportunities
Windows 10 is just crammed with useful chips that are not and will no longer be in the "Seven". Quick Start Mode to instantly turn on your PC, Memory Sense, Virtual Desktops, and more. Finally, thanks to the new user-friendly and nice interface, Windows 10 just looks more modern.
Windows 7 was very good at its release, but it's been a long time since then. Since its support has been completely discontinued, it will not receive new features, and will ultimately remain on the margins of progress.
Now that you understand why you need to upgrade to Windows 10, you should choose one of the options.
- Upgrade Windows 7 to Tens for free by following instructions on the official Microsoft website.
- If your computer is experiencing problems with Windows 10 - upgrade. As a rule, "Ten" works without difficulty even on old processors, but a slow HDD causes freezes. Install the SSD, even inexpensive, and use your old man as much as you want.
- Install Linux. This is ideal if you don't want to buy new hardware, and Windows 10 makes your computer suffer. Linux is superbly optimized, and runs very fast even on the most old iron.
