Pavel Durov criticized Apple and Google

Pavel Durov in his Twitter criticized the "insane" commissions from sales in digital stores Apple and Google. These fees are destroying startups and entire industries, he said.
Apple and Google impose an insane 30% sales tax on all digital goods sold on every mobile phone in the world. The result - users pay higher prices, start-ups and entire industries get destroyed or never appear. Regulators have been ignoring this absurdity for 10 years. https://t.co/5QqJYyLrME

Apple and Google are imposing an insane 30% sales tax on all digital goods sold on every mobile phone in the world. The result - users pay higher prices, startups and entire industries collapse or never appear. Regulators have ignored this absurdity for 10 years.
In the comments, Paul was asked about his solution to this problem, to which he replied:
The solution to end Apple abuse of monopoly power is simple: allow users to install apps directly or via alternative app stores, not just through the Apple-run AppStore that imposes the 30% cut, censorship and lack of privacy. Just replicate how apps get installed on desktops.

The solution that can end Apple's abuse of monopoly power is simple: allow users to install apps directly or through alternative stores, not just the App Store, which has a 30% commission, censorship and no confidentiality. Just make the installation process the same as on desktops.
In the comments, Durov was reminded that Google has such an option - applications on Android can be installed without Google Play, including modified ones. Pavel replied that this is why he uses an Android smartphone and not an iPhone.
They do - and this is one of the reasons I’ve been using Android for the last few years. Unfortunately, Google is trying to make installing self-hosted apps more difficult with Android 11. These companies shouldn’t be allowed to get away with limiting the freedoms of billions.

They do it - and that's one of the reasons I've been using Android for the past few years. Sorry Google trying to complicate installation of independent applications in Android 11. These companies should not be allowed to restrict the freedom of choice of billions of users.
Of course, Durov was asked what kind of smartphone he uses, but this question has so far remained unanswered.
Which mobile platform do you choose and why? Android for freedom of choice or iOS for its ecosystem? Share your opinion in the comments.
