Apple announces updated 27-inch iMac

Without further ado, Apple announced an update to its 27-inch all-in-one iMac. The device features a 10th generation Intel processor, improved graphics from AMD, ultra-fast solid-state drive and a new Retina 5K display.
For the first time, iMac buyers will be able to get an Intel 10-core variant (also available with 6- and 8-core processors), which is accelerated in Turbo Boost mode up to 5.0 GHz. By words company representatives, this guarantees a performance increase of 65% over the previous generation iMac.
In addition, the maximum possible amount of RAM and the size of storage have increased - a version with 128 GB of RAM is now available with solid state drives up to 8 TB.
The video adapter uses the latest AMD RDNA with faster and more energy efficient compute units that provide a 55% increase in graphics performance. The maximum video memory is 16 GB.
Compared to previous generation 8-core iMacs, the new computer can encode 8K ProRes video to Final Cut Pro X is 40% faster, rendering in Autodesk Maya is 35% faster, and build times in Xcode are 25% faster.
The display has also been pumped up - Retina 5K on the iMac is equipped with nanostructured glass, which provides excellent visibility in a variety of lighting conditions.
The new 27-inch iMac is already available to order from Apple. Prices start at $ 1,799 for a version with a 3.1GHz 6-core processor, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. The top-of-the-range version (Intel Core i9 3.6GHz with Turbo Boost up to 5.0GHz, 128GB of RAM and an 8TB SSD) will cost an impressive $ 8,799.
