VKontakte launches "Clips" - a new video format

VKontakte launches a new experimental service "Clips", which allows you to create small vertical videos up to 1 minute in length. They are designed to help you make yourself known to a wider audience.

Gesture control will become a key feature when shooting clips - for example, with one movement you can start recording a video or turn on a certain effect.

Friends and subscribers will be the first to see your videos, and then they will become available to a wide audience - complete strangers will be able to watch them. The clips will be promoted using recommendations and content recognition technology. That is, if you recorded something trending, then the video will definitely find its viewer.

You can send a clip you like to friends in a conversation, post it on your wall or in a community, and also add it to bookmarks to review later. Commenting will be available under the videos.

You can watch the clips in a new section that appeared in the fourth tab of the VKontakte mobile application. Now videos from hundreds of invited authors are available there, and later the ability to post their own clips will appear for all users.
