Mung bean, or mung beans, are small, green-colored legumes. They taste like beans and have a light nutty flavor.
How to prepare mung bean
First, go over the mung bean, ridding it of the debris. Then rinse under running water or in a bowl. Remove beans that are significantly darker than the rest - they are unripe and will not soften when cooked.
It is not necessary to soak mung bean. But some still fill it with water for several hours or all night, since it is believed that soaked legumes more easily absorbed by the body.
How much water to take
During the boiling process, the beans absorb liquid and increase in volume by about three times. Therefore, they should be completely covered with water: take 3 glasses of liquid for 1 cup of mung bean. Although more is possible, just the excess will need to be drained after cooking.
