"You" or "you"? We figure out how to properly address the interlocutor

Capitalized "you" and "your" are used in writing to express respect for the other person. However, it is not necessary to write these pronouns and their forms this way. The very use of "you" instead of "you" to address one person is already a manifestation of respect.
In the correspondence, you yourself can decide which spelling option to choose, since this issue is not strictly regulated in Russian spelling. Follow these rulesCapital letters in special stylistic use.
- "You" with a capital letter is justified in personal correspondence, official document, questionnaire or advertising text as a form of courtesy, but only if the appeal is addressed to one person. For example: "We inform you, Alexander Petrovich, ..."
- Accordingly, you should not use "you" to address a group of people: "Dear subscribers, as you know ..."
- The pronoun "You" must be written with a capital letter when referring to a titled person. For example, "Your Honor", "Your Majesty", "Your Highness".
If it is difficult to immediately remember these subtleties, use the mnemonic technique: choose "You" if you can insert a singular reference in front of it. For example: "Dear client, we are glad to offer you ..." But once again we emphasize that it is not necessary to use a form with a capital letter in such cases.
