Tips / / December 19, 2019
Drop a coin into a glass with ice, to find out whether the products are not spoiled, while you were not at home.
Imagine the situation: you are going on vacation or a weekend out of town, no one is home. During this time may be power outages. Food in the freezer will become unfit for use, and you do not even notice.
Simple trick will help to check how well the freezer while you are away:
- Type in a glass of water and put it in the freezer.
- When water freezes, put on ice coin.
- Place the beaker back into the freezer.
- Check it out after the return.
If you see that the coin is at the bottom of the glass, then cut off the electricity. And for a long time, since the ice in the freezer had time to fully thaw. If the coin remained in the same place where you left it, electricity is fed properly or disable it for a short period of time. Therefore:
- If the ice in the glass completely melted, with your food in the refrigerator the same thing happened. If the coin in the cup was at the very bottom, it is a signal: you have to throw everything out of the fridge and not risk eating spoiled food.
- If the coin is the top glass or a little melted water means power cuts did not have light or cut off for a short time. Even if the refrigerator for some time did not work, there is thought of thermal insulation system, so the products remained fresh.
Use this simple life hacking, when you need to leave home or to check how regularly works freezer.
