The World Health Organization has officially recognized the outbreak coronavirus COVID-2019 pandemic. This was announced by the director general of the organization Tedros Adan Ghebreyesus via the official Twitter of the WHO. This is the first coronavirus pandemic in history.

Over the past two weeks, the number of cases outside China has increased 13 times, the number of infected countries has tripled. To date, more than 118,000 cases have been recorded in 114 countries of the world, the death toll has exceeded 4,290 people. At the same time, in 81 countries not a single case of infection was noted, in another 57 no more than 10 people fell ill. WHO claims that it is the uninfected countries that can change the course of the pandemic.
Ghebreyesus urged to remain calm and focus on what citizens and leaders of states can do to prevent and combat the virus. He ended the announcement with:
“Now we must act together, make the right decisions and protect the citizens of the world. It's doable. "
