Samsung showed typing via SelfieType

Samsung demonstrated SelfieType technology, designed to significantly simplify and make text input on smartphones and tablets more comfortable. Instead of physical or touch keys on the screen, it suggests using any flat surface near the device.
SelfieType does not require any additional accessories - the technology works with the front cameras and proprietary algorithms that read the movement of your fingers and convert them into clicks keys.
Basically, the principle of typing with SelfieType is the same as with projected keyboards. Except that everything works here without a projector and visible keys. Accordingly, in order to use this technology, it is important to have the skill of touch typing, since finger movements are read using a standard keyboard layout.
For now, SelfieType only supports English input, but later the developers plan to add new layouts. When the technology will become available to users, Samsung did not specify.
