Workplaces / / December 27, 2019
Visiting Layfhakera Nina Liauchuk. She is a senior account manager with clients in Google's European office. Nina - a true professional and incredibly charming girl. In an interview she told us what gadgets use and how to build your schedule. Nina rightly believes that "our success depends only on us," and her story - a clear confirmation.
What do you do in your work?
I'll start with history: about two years ago, after completing training in business school in San Francisco, I began to consider a company where she could continue to build their career, and received an offer from the company Google, which now occupies the position of Senior Account Manager in the Adwords team and work with clients mainly from small and medium business.
My main task - to develop and implement online strategies on the Google Display Network, which will increase the profit of my clients. Therefore, communication with customers and learning the specifics of their business is a big part of my job.
Also, I am developing internal training and techniques that focus on the development of sales skills, communication when dealing with customers, as well as case studies of our daily practice.
First started with training for your team is now working on a program for teams of European cluster.
In general, help to develop clients and colleagues for me the main thing that brings me pleasure, and, of course, it is important all the time to develop itself and to learn from others!
How does your workplace?
Google's European headquarters in Dublin, Ireland, where I work.
On the specifics of my work I have a lot of business trips and meetings with clients, and a huge plus to joining Google, for me, is that you can work from any office in any part thereof.
All Google offices have secluded place: sofas, hammocks, pillows, quiet corners where you can concentrate on work and get away from the open space, I often do.
Of course, I have a desktop.
On the table - a creative mess and the 24-inch Dell monitor phone for conference calls and wireless headphones.
To work and travel I use a Mac Book Air. It is very convenient, as on business trips a day I can have five to seven meetings with clients. I also have an iPhone, iPad, and of course, the tablet Nexus 7, as for my work is important to use different platforms.
If I need any additional equipment, I can always order it online or borrow through Google Techstop service (internal service that provides Googlers necessary for work equipment), such as headphones quickly order additional adapters and other gadgets.
What software use?
Of course, I use all of Google's products, as well as special internal and external services to work with Adwords (Google Analytics, Google Editor and others). All products on all devices I have synchronized, which allows for more efficient control of the process, no matter where I was.
The main products that I use every day:
- Gmail - I actively use the filters in the work and prioritizes mail. In general, a system of filters in Gmail is very convenient and allows you to quickly and effectively respond to emails.
- Google Docs - I prefer all the information stored on Google Drive, and not on the desktop or in the computer, so you always get a quick access to it from any of my device.
- Google Calendar - I try to pre-plan the whole day in the calendar again, a big plus is the synchronization on all my devices.
- Google Hangouts - an indispensable tool of communication with colleagues and clients, as well as great functionality for training webinars.
How do you organize your time?
By nature I am "owl", so productive time for me to start from 10 am, but since I work with the markets of Russia and Ukraine, and I am in Dublin, where the time difference is three to four hours, it is because of this has to be included in the process much earlier.
Punctuality and prioritization for me are the main criteria to be effective in their work.
Therefore, I am still in search of the perfect tool for planning.
At the moment, I try to plan everything from Friday for the following week. All meetings zanoshu in Google Calendar, and all the jobs - in Google Task Manager.
in Google day I begin with a breakfast at work, during which you can quickly run through the tasks for the day, and the day in superactive I continued up to four hours - time for communication with clients from Russia and Ukraine, then I concentrate on other workstations processes.
Depending on the load and the activity of my clients sometimes my day ends at seven in the evening and later. I also have to schedule exercise five days a week.
What place sport occupies in your life?
Sport for me is very important - I do five days a week. Three times on weekdays with a personal trainer twice a week doing interval running in the sports hall of the office.
On weekends, her husband and coach play tennis. I also stick to just the right power that makes me feel cheerful and well.
I believe that sport not only helps develop discipline, but also to recharge your batteries and relieve job stress.
It is said that a healthy body - healthy mind. :) Even on a business trip - traveling I spend a third of their working time - I try to do at least a light gymnastics. Working at Google, it's easy to do, as in almost every office there are specially-equipped gym.
How to pass the time in traffic jams?
In Dublin, I live 20 minutes away from the office, so always go on foot, and the problem of traffic jams is not familiar to me. :)
The planes always try to effectively spend time and spend it at work or processing of interesting material for the training. it is better for me than sleeping on airplanes, since then I no longer have time and, as a result, have more time for personal life.
Is there a place in your paper work?
Basically, all the records'm online and use Google Docs, but in meetings with clients prefer all written in the notebook, not into a laptop - so it's easier to maintain a conversation.
Layfhakerstvo from Nina Liauchuk
The four books that I recommend:
- "The Psychology of Influence" by Robert Cialdini (I think about it is known to many; This book is useful for anyone who wants to learn how to build effective communication).
- "Losing My Virginity" Richard Branson (That should not be afraid to pursue their goals).
- APE: Author, Publisher, Entrepreneur - How to Publish a Book, Guy Kawasaki (For those who, like me, is planning to write a book).
- Presentation Zen, Garr Reynolds (To produce effective presentations).
Also very impressed with the performance of Lizzie Velasquez TEDx about motivation and how to achieve their goals, when no one believes in you:
Is there a dream configuration?
If we talk about the ideal workplace, I believe that I already have it, and all the conditions for productive work I have created. My office is in Dublin city center with beautiful views of the city, I have a great opportunity to observe a healthy diet, active in sports and to monitor the health, without leaving the office.
And even though it's all really important and very helpful, yet our success depends only on ourselves and our inner desire to get everything out of life.
Dreams do their task, which is becoming a reality, and still be healthy and happy, to enjoy life and work, not to live everyday with the hope for the best.
I completely agree with Honore de Balzac: "In order to reach the goal, we must first go" and Maltby Babcock: "In life, one must strive to overtake is not others, but ourselves."
In Google in my personal profile I have written the following: «Grow, Develop, Learn!». That and the rest of the wish.
