Workplaces / / December 27, 2019
Meet Anton Fedosin - a person who does not pursue expensive gadgets, knows how to count money prefers underground tubes and wood stuffy gym. Anton manages startup, which enlisted the support of "Yandex", and today will tell about themselves and their work.
Anton Fedosin
In the past, he worked as a project manager in the company "KORUS Consulting". Currently head of the service of accounting and personal finance plan "Zen-mani." He graduated from Saint Petersburg State University.
What do you do in your work?
My name is Anton Fedosin. I'm the head of the project "Zen-maniยป. This is a service for tracking and personal finance planning. We have been working for five years on the project and still going for 20 years, until people start to spend more on education, experience, experience, than any fancy stuff and status. :)
The whole team now - it's two people. My partner Konstantin Sychkin engaged in the technical part. He is the brain. I do the rest: user support, functionality and thinking through the drawing interface, testing, finance, marketing.
How does your workplace?
Jobs I have two: home and coworking.
When I started working on "Zen-mani", I thought that I would work from home. Did not work out. Firstly, because of the children, who are constantly demanding attention, and have to be distracted, and secondly, change of context quickly allows you to switch to desktop mode. The house is given more difficult.
What software use?
The main devices: Asus Zenbook on Windows 7, iPad and old Samsung on Android.
Windows was chosen a long time ago, when the main work program for me was Microsoft Word. And until recently, the entrance to the online bank of our company has worked only in IE.
iPad use in the way between home and office. I have time to reply to the letters that fall down for the night.
Old phone do not change, because it can be great to test the performance of our application.
At work, I use:
- Gmail - 50% of the time I spend in the mail. Gmail is not only used as a post, but also as a task list (send yourself emails) and a text editor.
- HelpShift - use to support users in mobile applications. Highly recommend.
- Trello - to manage tasks.
- Momentum - plug-in for Chrome. Launched at the opening of each new tab in the browser. Displays the most beautiful photos and the main focus (problem) to date.
On the iPad:
- Flipboard - news reader and subscriptions. Very stylish and beautiful reader.
- Memrise - to learn Spanish. The technology is used Memrise spaced repetitionWhich is very effective for storing active.
- Headspace - for meditation.
- Coursera and YouTube for lectures.
On your phone, almost no use, except for "Zen-mani" and messengers WhatsApp and Viber.
How do you organize your time?
In the morning I write out all the tasks that need to be done that day. I define the three most important, having timing constraints or corresponding strategic objectives. I start with the one you do not want to do the most. In most cases, this is exactly the task that brings maximum results.
The most difficult task trying to make from 11 to 13 hours. Firstly, it is the most productive time (read about it at Dan Ariely). Secondly, in the morning we have the maximum energy.
By evening, our strength will evaporate, and the more at a later time we put a task, the less likely that we will do it.
In the afternoon, I am doing more routine tasks that do not require a creative approach: test, questions and answers on the support forum, a simple technical tasks and so on.
The third slot - from 23:00 until after midnight. Usually at this time doing research, watching the lecture, I read the articles, working on new ideas.
What place sport occupies in your life?
The second after the family. :)
I'm a fan of the sport orientation. Pure pine forest, soft moss, the smell of wild strawberries, run, breathe deeply the fresh forest air, you find the control point and gets a dose of dopamine (yeah, find!).
This meditation, which is close to achieving nirvana.
In summer orienteering run up to five times a week. In the last year I started to run more trails and participate in mini-triathlons. Stuffy gym with rocker do not recognize. :)
How to pass the time in traffic jams?
Just because of traffic jams do not go around the city by car. Otvozhu children to the garden, leave the car and food on the underground. I feel sorry for these one and a half hours a day, which can be spent more effectively. The metro respond to letters to learn Spanish, listen to podcasts, write the lyrics.
Layfhakerstvo from Anton Fedosin
I would be Captain Obvious. Money brings money.
Begin to set aside and invest as early as possible. Standard trap: Now there's no money available, that will raise the salary, and be sure to start. This moment will never come. And the truth is that it is always possible to postpone.
Change money on the emotions, experiences, impressions. This is something that stays with us forever. The latest model of the phone, fashionable clothes, expensive car do not add anything to your life.
From the books I recommend "Atlas Shrugged"Ayn Rand. At the time this book changed my view of the construction of the state.
also recommend blog and podcast Tim Ferriss. Anyone who wants to improve their efficiency in everything that makes the business, sports, health, and so on - be sure to read and listen to.
Is there a dream configuration?
I enjoy traveling. And often it would be desirable not to run, but to stay and live. To understand this language, these people learn that they are able to.
Ideal to divide the year into two or three parts and a few months to live and work in different countries.
With three children, it is becoming increasingly difficult, but we try.
If you're not burdened with children, work remotely - buy a one way ticket and take the exit. This is something that will change your life forever.
