Almir Salimov
Entrepreneur, CEO Executive.ru, founder of a closed social network OnTheList. He graduated from the Higher School of Economics and the London School of Economics. He received an MBA degree at the Singapore campus of INSEAD. He worked in the company BP, Booz & Co, the Fund "Skolkovo".
What do you do in your work?
Three years ago I decided to start his own business and launched a project OnTheList - a private club for successful people, which helps business and busy people meet for romantic or business relationship.
One of the main advantages of their own business before working in the corporation for me - it's a variety of projects and types of activity, which occupies.
In 2014 I joined the project E-xecutive.ru. It is a business social network for the exchange of professional experience and knowledge, as well as jobs, customers, employees and experts.
Now, as the head of the two IT-projects, I'm involved in a wide range of issues: from strategy development and training commercial proposals for key clients and ending participation in the creation of interfaces sites and the organization of major business and social events.
How does your workplace?
E-xecutive office is located in a high-rise building. The window offers a scenic view of Moscow, including the many kilometers of traffic jams on the evening Prospekt Mira.
On the desktop, I have, as a rule, only a computer and documents.
Working in western companies, I used to work in open space, where employees do not have permanent jobs, but you can occupy any free space.
Therefore, in the office I sometimes work in different offices: in the sales department, the editorial board. So get to know better than the employees live, what difficulties they encounter in their daily work.
What software use?
From personal gadgets I have the iPhone 5 and the Lenovo laptop with Windows operating system.
Twice I tried to go on the MacBook, but both attempts failed. The first MacBook Air, bought at the company store San Francisco, turned out to be defective and require replace the motherboard, while the second is often hung office programs and met other small problem.
Of software used by Microsoft Outlook and other office applications. Especially PowerPoint - the main tool for the preparation of commercial proposals and policy papers.
Browsers prefer Chrome. But set all possible observers to view and test their own websites, because under different browsers same site may behave differently.
One of my recent advances in the use of software - is almost complete abandonment of storing documents on your computer. I fully suffered all the important files in Dropbox and now everything is exceptionally stored in the cloud. So it is much more reliable.
Mail and instant messengers (WhatsApp and Telegram) I always included, as during the day you need to keep in touch with many people.
By virtue of professional activity I actively use Facebook to find the right contacts and correspondence, but never leave the Facebook window open, so as not to be distracted from work. In general, the business interaction tend to use social networks as you can rather quickly reach the right people. With friends also talk offline, on the phone or instant messengers.
How do you organize your time?
In a particularly intense periods of work I make a list of things to do in the next few days. List of lead in the text notes on your iPhone and as you complete delete them from there.
There, in the notes to create a prototype of various documents: terms of reference for the sites, offers to customers, projects, budgets, and the negotiations are often fixed in the basic notes agreement. Then I send these notes to your e-mail for further refinement.
You have assistants?
Personal Assistant I have, but there are personnel performing certain circle similar to my duties.
By delegating important functions I take very carefully, because I overestimated the requirements for the quality of work.
Especially it concerns the presentation and preparation of commercial proposals. (Affects experience in management consulting, when over one slide team could work for a few hours or even days.)
So before you delegate authority, trying to train a person, enter it in the course of affairs, to show an example several times.
What's your daily routine?
My biological clock depends on the season: in winter I reluctantly wake up even at nine in the morning, but in the summer can get up without an alarm clock at 6:00.
I work usually until late at night, as the night turns out efficiently. I go to bed, usually after an hour of the night.
How to pass the time in traffic jams?
In spirit I am an entrepreneur, so I always have something to do. If there is a free moment, pondering plans for the future, makes drafts of letters to potential clients, respond to missed calls or simply call family and friends.
Is there a place in your paper work?
I use paper in two cases:
- when you need to see the "new look" in the final version of any important document;
- and, conversely, when it is necessary to reflect on something creative and it is unclear where to start, then help clean sheet of paper and a pencil.
In other cases, all of the current notes and drafts of documents I save in the phone or laptop.
