Sergey Kaplichny
Copywriter, blogger, entrepreneur. He graduated from the Russian State Vocational Pedagogical University. She taught English in the Ural Federal University.
What do you do in your work?
My main task - is to read the book (many) and write articles (too much).
Knowledge means nothing if they do not use or transmit to other people.
On each of the copywriters publishing monthly accounts for 3-6 books that we need to learn and write articles for the third-party sites. I also write posts for a corporate blog, I am heading "literary habits"Twitter and Telegram« Myth ", the newsletter periodically prepare for our subscribers and execute promostranitsy for the site.
From all of this was born his own project under the name "Mnogochital». This parcel of books and thematic gifts that I update every month and send mnogochitatelyam. In her book "The Myth" and other publishers, including art and children.
How to read a lot of books read and memorize?
The easiest way to read more - to plan in advance the time to read. For example, I have every day, there are two recurring problems: read 30 minutes in the morning and evening. At the same time in the morning I read business literature, and in the evenings - artistic.
⠀
If you take only 15-20 minutes to read the morning and evening, you will read 3-4 books a month.
From each read the book, I try to take at least one idea and immediately bring it to life. Here are a few examples.
- «Remote. The office is not required». Realized that once made the right move, abandoning regular office job and started looking for a remote dream job.
- «Scrum: how to work half, managing to twice». Together with his girlfriend started using Scrum. As a result, we have become longer and more productive to have time to spend time together.
- «Visual notes on practice». I began every day to sketch a pleasant experience. I have long wanted to record important events, and finally found a suitable tool.
- «Show your work!"Launched newsletter.
- «Startup for $ 100». I launched the project "Mnogochital".
How does your workplace?
The "myth" all work remotely. So my workplace where I am a working mood. "Mnogochital" also does not require physical presence at a certain point.
The main thing - included brain and a laptop.
For three years he worked for 11-inch MacBook Air, which was the perfect traveling companion. But earlier this year moved for 13-inch MacBook Pro Retina. He, of course, a little more Air, but the screen and the battery is several orders of magnitude better.
As a phone I have iPhone 6S Plus. Stupid name, but he gadget is beyond praise.
Smartphone I have only three screens: the first - financial applications and services that I use most often; on the second - all sorts of entertaining gizmos, and the third - an application that helps me to travel and life in the capital.
I called very rarely, but constantly read from the book of the smartphone, dial short texts and photograph.
As a rule, I read e-books, because they are easier to take with you on the road. A few years enjoyed a Kindle Paperwhite. But after buying a large iPhone Kindle has lost its appeal.
Now I only read on the iPhone, mainly through iBooks. Books in English - in the Kindle app, and fiction - in Bookmate application.
Also often I read books on the MacBook. In this case, I use the standard program "View" for working with PDF.
After the training Maksim Dorofeev, author technique "Jedi technique" and the same name booksI completely revised their attitude to e-mail and moved to the method an empty inbox.
To write a text using the program iA Writer. In this editor, I cover all the drafts, which can then edit and send to Google Docs. From there they are published or passed on.
During operation, usually I listen to musical selections in the Apple Music or online radio Chillhop. Best Music for productive work is not yet found.
TED lectures are constantly watching and going through different courses. With Coursera relationship did not exist, but Skillshare very much. I looked there already about 30 lessons on a variety of topics: from advice on content marketing to lessons on how to properly take notes to photos in Instagram.
More time to time look in the Primer application from Google. There, too, in a concise manner possible to find interesting material.
Smartphone and laptop regularly change wallpaper. Opt for them to Smashing Magazine website. There is a monthly compilation make different pictures of the designers from around the world.
Is there a place in your paper work?
After graduating from university, I decided that I will no longer use the paper. I print a lot faster than I write, and my handwriting is poor.
Three years later, is gradually beginning to return to the paper. Sometimes we get distracted with my girlfriend for 15 minutes from all the work and draw in notebooks three pleasant things that happened to us during the day. It helps to remember the good, and just a great pastime.
What is in your bag?
Once a month I moved to Europe with one small backpack. To buy a new thing, I first had to get rid of the old one. It was a great experience.
Since charges are in any trip to grab a passport and a laptop. Other has a large value.
How do you organize your time?
In the second year of university, I started to look for a part time web. So there was my first remote earnings - translated articles from English. And then to experience for yourself all the difficulties of work at home.
I'm constantly distracted, slip dates prokrastiniroval. To get rid of it, I began to learn time management systems.
At first it was a normal notebook with a pen, then Remember the milk, then Tasks from Google, then Wunderlist. I tried everything I could find, and focused on the application Things. It is the only service which suits me and logic, and design, and operating speed.
All I bring fresh ideas to the "Inbox" folder you want to understand the end of the day. This is important, as it allows not to drive the idea back and forth, and immediately record and return to it later.
I put on a lot of experiments: worked at night, deposed all the objectives for the evening, engaged in the first half of the day personal projects, working with constant interruptions. In the end, I realized that the best thing I get to work in the morning. I wake up at 6:00 and get to work, or going to the gym first (if that day training).
Every day, I make a list of things. If the task consists of several steps, it becomes a project and carried out in stages. At the end of the day, and at the end of the week am bringing up: look at what could and what do not work, and continue to move forward.
Meetings and discussions put on the afternoons when my performance falls.
In the five months I spent last year in China and borrowed a few habits of the people of China.
Every day after lunch, the Chinese go to bed. If they had lunch at the cafe, you can fall asleep right at the table. If you are in the office, pull out cot, pillow and fall asleep. From the side looks very funny.
More Chinese always carry a container and drink the water constantly. Even the police near the holster has a special section where you can attach a small thermos.
Now I am also constantly drink water and sleep 20-40 minutes after lunch. It helps to quickly rejuvenate and feel refreshed.
What's your hobby?
Several years ago I made a list of 100 things that have never tasted in my life. I have called this project "Layflist"I told about it to readers of his blog and began to carry out this list. And it was he identified many of my next hobby.
- I walked 50 kilometers on foot.
- I learned to cook falafel.
- I refused for one week on the Internet.
- A ride on a motorcycle.
- I learned to ride a snowboard.
- Mastered Photoshop.
- He remained silent for three days and took another bunch of a wide variety of things that are constantly postponed.
As soon as I have a minute to spare, I look down the list, find the outstanding item and receives for its implementation. The great thing when people follow my example. Already hundreds of people perform their lists and pumped himself.
What place sport occupies in your life?
Three years ago, I joined a gym. Buddy helped develop the program and showed what was happening. Three times a week in the morning I went to the other end of town and the thrust rod. And I loved it.
But because of the constant travel and movement, when the intervals between campaigns in the steel hall be a few weeks, I realized that you need to look for something else.
I stumbled on service Freeletics. This application, which contains hundreds of exercises. What's the coolest thing, exercises are done with their own weight. To stay in shape, you do not even need to leave the house. Just the perfect thing for remote employees and avid travelers.
Performed training in Yekaterinburg, Pridnestrovie Bendery, Chinese Shenzhen and other cities to which I swerved.
This year decided to try his hand at something completely new. I signed up for boxing. To be honest, I never thought that boxing - so complex and fascinating sport. I need a lot of exercise, but it can never turn off my head. You need to think about the strategy and monitor the behavior of the opponent.
Layfhakerstvo from Sergei Kaplichny
Layfhakera readers want to advise to read books, to develop, to do great projects and inspire others.
Here are a few works of art to get you started:
- «101 Reykjavík"Hallgrimur Helgason. This book is the first time I read more than seven years ago after watching the same movie. I was just struck by the delightful talent to juggle with words. Find for sale "101 Reykjavik" very difficult. At one time I went to Iceland to buy this book in English.
- «days foam"Boris Vian. Very sad work, on which the film is also removed the plague. As in the previous book, really liked how the author played with words. Sad story, of course, also can not be touched.
- "More Ben" Sergei Sakin and Paul Teterskogo. It has already become a classic story of two lovely assholes who in the late 90's to conquer London. Soft drugs, shoplifting, fraud harmless, life robotic British and checking the strength of friendship. There is all of this, sprinkle with a great sense of humor. Always nice to reread.
- "Pollyanna" Eleanor Porter. One of the good books I have ever read. Young orphan Pollyanna comes to live with her aunt, which does not differ a great love of life. Pollyanna teaches aunt and all the others enjoy all that they have. Very interesting then to carry pollianninu "play" on their lives and also to enjoy everything that is happening around.
- «Little Prince"Antoine de Saint-Exupery. Classic. I try to reread at least once a year. I always discover something new.
Of business literature in an exclusive parcel I would put the following books:
- «Remote. The office is not required"Jason Fried and David Hansson. For me, this book has become the starting point in the life of branchless. I tried to work on it freelancing, but after reading the finally realized that in my office doing nothing. And more in the office is closed.
- «Fuck It. Send everything to!!! Paradoxical path to success and prosperity"John Parkin. The easiest and most affordable way to understand the Zen in the modern sinful world - to send everything to hell. One of the best books on self-development, because the author is able to find a cool approach to the reader.
- «Steal like an artist. 10 lessons of creative expression"Austin Kleon. Just bible of modern man who wants to be creative. Very useful tips for creative people.
- «Important years. Why not set aside for later life"Meg Jay. The book helped to find answers to pressing questions. I think it is useful to read the whole, although it focuses on people 20-30 years.
- «Introverts. How to use the features of their character"Susan Kane. A book that has helped me to better understand the nature of their own, learn to accept myself as I am, and move on, developing positive qualities. Useful for those who are willing to look at yourself.
