"I see the rest purely as an investment in their future state" - about productivity
- You draw comics life, they are very steep. You do it only for themselves or more and to order?
- The priority of my drawings always "for itself", but it happens that the draw to order. It is a bit different: there are strict limits, changes. But I wonder to evolve and try themselves in the commercial direction in advertising. But I repeat: if you choose between own creativity and work only in the order, I will choose the former.
- In addition, you do more work in IT?
- In the technical field, I would not want to draw attention, it is common office work with its pluses and minuses.
- Good, but manage to combine both?
- Combining fails, completely eliminating Life walks, entertainment and meetings with anyone. I can devote to this day, a week, and try to relax on vacation and some weekends.
- It turns out, free time almost does not remain?
- I consider the rest purely as an investment in their future state: without rest will just feel unwell. And when you feel unwell, you can not concentrate and come up with something worthwhile.
- Did not try any method of time management?
- No, but it so happened that I just was always quite mandatory. More unfortunately, or fortunately, I can not work at night because sleepless nights an impact on future productivity.
"I drew all my life" - a creative way and Technical Education
- What education do you have? Whether it is connected with at least one of your fields of activity?
- Yes, he graduated from a technical college with a degree I am an engineer. I had a good secondary education (strong physics and mathematics lyceum), but to develop it to a more serious level failed. University, unfortunately, hardly gave me knowledge (at the Lyceum I got more of them) and awakened interest in my specialty, but I had a good time there and started a few friends.
- At what point did you realize that you want to be creative?
- Actually, my dream was to write music. As a student, we have been friends a rock band, and I really enjoy the process of songwriting. Of course, in the end it came to nothing lead. But I decided for myself that need to be creative one. People from the staff may treat the matter less seriously than you fail. A solo work - a complete control over the situation.
Honestly, I did not have a special predisposition to music. I loved her, but she loved me, "as a friend". And I realized that this relationship came to nothing lead. Well, I drew all his life. During the period of study and musical activities did so rarely, and then somehow it turned out that the process fascinated me.
"It was interesting to see what the reaction of the living people are not from the Internet to my work" - for the first exhibition, the difficulties and workflow
- How to get ideas for your comics? It happens that the grind picture? Or most everyday situations themselves throw up your ideas?
- It's not always the same. And the end result does not depend on the approach. You can grind great ideaAnd can be caught on the fly that something useless, and vice versa. The birth of ideas devoted entire books, so it's a long conversation. In short: if you do it right, then maybe you come up with something worthwhile, or perhaps not.
- How do you feel about the fact that comic books are scattered on different Public on social networks?
- This has pros and cons. Pros: your style becomes recognizable. Cons: you - a free producer of content for those who make money out of this. But the most unacceptable for me - using my ideas or images in advertising anything.
- You have almost half a million subscribers in Instagram. You can call yourself a popular artist?
- No, I can call myself popular not.
- You draw only in the figure? Or create a picture on the canvas?
- I draw with the mouse. Even I had forgotten that it might be considered strange. I use Adobe Illustrator and a little Photoshop.
I write on the canvas, too. If you are reading this interview in December 2018, then come to my exhibition Moscow gallery "Mars", there will be my well-known on the Internet works, written with acrylics on canvas.
- The first exhibition - a big step for the artist. How do you dare to it?
- The exhibition I wanted for a long time, it was a long time an ambitious goal. This year my creative activity on the Internet five years old, and I decided to try to get out of the Internet in the real world. I was interested to render some of his works with acrylic on canvas, to see how it will look in the gallery space, and what will be the reaction of the living people are not from the Internet to my creativity.
- Tell us how to cook? What parting words will give to those who also want to spend your exhibition?
- Draw I started somewhere from May: just type stuff without haste. Typing half the desired amount of pictures (I aimed at 30 pieces), launched in parallel to search the site. I am an absolute beginner in the world of artists, exhibitions and art, so there were people from Moscow and Peter, who were willing to help in the search for sites.
The exhibition - it is difficult and often very expensive. If you are not cool in certain circles, come off the street and make it you will not succeed.
Expect that searches for a suitable place may take, for example, half a year. Also, do not forget that your work can not simply go by the gallery format. But other tips give until I can not: my show is yet to come. Just I hope that expectations are met.
- And what can you call your greatest achievement in the works?
- I think that when people write that my work it somehow helps in life.
- What difficulties prevent you from growing in the works? How to deal with them?
- The problem can only be that you do not know where to go. I have not yet been so ambitious projects that they did not have enough time. The problem of money I decide to work in the office. TO creative crisis I am with the understanding that nothing lasts forever.
The main difficulty for me - is questionable.
- How does your workplace?
- My workplace - it's just a table, laptop and all sorts of things scattered on the table (optional). And I like to bring a degree of chaos on the table to the maximum in order to enhance the contrast of restoring order.
Who is on my desk: laptop, connected to it a large monitor, a lot of black felt-tip pens, wires, a palette, a pile of A4 sheets, notebooks, sketchbooks.
I did not invent the idea of the table, so to me it does not matter what it looks like my job. The main thing is that nothing prevented to drive the mouse on the table.
Layfhakerstvo from Anton Gudima
Of art books for the last time I read only Japanese fairy tale. In general, I like the classic fairy tale. Ah, another was HarmsBut with his work, I think most readers, and so familiar.
Of those works that influenced me, I can be called "All about life"Michael Weller.
Professionally:
- "Creativity as an Exact Science. Theory of Inventive Problem Solving "Gengrih Altshuller.
- «Muse will not come. Truth and myths about how ideas are born geniuses"David Burkus.
- "Games for a reason. Training creative thinking, "Michael Mikalko.
- "The birth of a new idea," Edward de Bono.
I can not recommend any particular one, because almost everyone finds some interesting ideas, but there were also tedious and obvious points. I would say this: it is a book with which you can try to get acquainted.
I do not watch soap operas, since it takes a long time. But I watch YouTube. I can recommend:
- Artifex - the channel of art.
- PMTV Channel - channel music.
Movies now too rarely watch. But like the kind of, they motivate:
- "Obsession» (Whiplash).
- "Woe to the Creator» (Disaster Artist).
