You consider yourself an optimist? Are you sure that this is the most correct approach to life? Sometimes too much optimism can cause the opposite effect. At this point, the best thing you can do - learn to think negatively.
I always considered myself an optimist (and continue to do so), perceiving any situation in a positive way. But despite this, I am also faced with disappointments, and sometimes even more often than we would like. The reason for this - my boundless optimism. That he does not allow me to stop in time and enjoy the results of their own.
And today I want to share my thoughts as negative thinking often has a positive result for us than optimistic.
The realization that we are limited
We believe they are capable of everything and able to achieve the best results in any case. We are the optimists. This approach encourages us to keep moving forward and do not stop there, but at the same time, prevents the feeling of achievement. After all versions of what else you can do a lot. The result of this - regardless of success, we feel so, they did not enough. Not well worked, studied, we rested. We are upset that not see all the interesting places to vacation, do not have time to visit all the clubs and parties or insufficiently engaged in the gym. We worked hard, but in the end feel "the broken trough".
What to do: rein in your enthusiasm and realize that we and our options are limited. To determine the purpose of their abilities and desires and to stop in time. This approach will help to get rid of things that are stealing our attention and energy, and enjoy what we do. Should not seek to make a career as a professional basketball player, playing with friends once a week in the yard, or dance as well as professional dancers. You do not need to grasp at dozens of cases at the same time, trying to succeed in everything and concentrate on one and act consistently.
Do not expect much
Another example of a super-positive - maximalism. We believe that we can do and get everything you want.
Fall in love - so the Queen, to lose - so a million!
As a result, we overestimate their expectations. We are waiting for the prince on a white horse, work, dream, perfect figure and worldwide recognition. We draw a picture perfect life and his own happiness. We only want to live and no other way, and the result is disappointing. We do not condone their over-expectations and suffer from it.
What to do: reduce their expectations or, in some cases, remove them all. What for? To enjoy life. It is one thing - to dream and aim high, and the other - expect concrete results from this. More safe and useful for health - to dream about traveling, and then enjoy it, not expecting him to any super-results.
Assess the risks - it's not about us?
Excessive enthusiasm and positive attitude make us forget about the risks, which may include some or other actions. We dive in the pool with his head, drawing himself a perfect picture, but without taking into account the potential difficulties in the future. There is no place critical thinking and analysis of the situation. We believe in the best, because we are optimists.
What to do: accurate assessment of risks - one of the best ways for individual development. That it will help to make a breakthrough in our lives, not unconscious action at the approach "dive, and then we shall understand." In such cases, we spend most of their time and energy in vain.
