Not bad for a man who does not even graduated from high school, right?
Richard Branson - is one of the most successful businessmen in the UK and business guru, who wrote several books, one of which we have review. And 10 of his secrets of success.
1. Follow your dream
If you are going to start a business, make sure that it is related to your hobby, passion or something that you really like. Do not create a business just for the money. It seems to me that many of them have great ideas, but only a few can bring them to life.
Many also think that their ideas have long been implemented, and they did not work themselves, they will go bankrupt and all such risks - it is a waste of time. When I tried to interview her for the student magazine, I wrote to all the celebrities who only knew. They responded to only a few people. But answer!
2. Your business should make people's lives better
Your business should give people something special - that they had no idea how they lived without it before. Remember that the business - this is your opportunity to make a difference. With that mindset you and your team work will be much more pleasant.
3. Believe in your ideas
The idea is to become a passion. Moreover, you have to learn how to pass on their passion to others. If the idea is really good, you should be able to describe it in two or three sentences. Also, your idea must be something better competitive ideas.
I would not make sense to create another airline, same as the others. So I created an airline, which in many ways better than all competitors.
4. Enjoy and respect your team
I am 100% confident that if you do not take pleasure in his case, it is a sign that you need to move on. Fun - this is the most important part of any job. And the fun is not only yours, but also your team. Make sure that your company takes care of his subordinates as well as you do.
5. Do not give up
It is very important not to give up at the first loser. And the losses will be, believe me! When I crossed the Pacific Ocean in a balloon, all the circumstances were against me, and the desire to give up was very appealing. The life of an entrepreneur is a lot like life of a traveler.
Sometimes a lot of situations where you priporty to the wall, and a chance to solve the problem seems paltry. Make every effort to overcome this feeling and come back with renewed energy the next day.
6. Create lists and challenge yourself
I create dozens of lists daily. And I think that this is what distinguishes the successful entrepreneur from the usual. Details are too important to ignore them.
I also believe that the set itself new, albeit small goals - this is very important. We need both long-term and short-term goals. At the beginning of the year, record the target for the entire year, at the beginning of the month - for the next month and so on. This will give the opportunity to improve and move on.
7. Spend time with family and learn to delegate tasks
One of the things that you need to learn in the beginning of his business the way - this delegation of tasks. Find people who are in some way better than you, and entrust them with specialized tasks. So you free yourself some time to reflect on the overall picture of the business and the family. Spending time with your family is very important, especially if you have kids.
I know that I'm a good businessman, but not sure it would be a good manager of his company. These are different things. My thoughts are always in the future, but my main desire - to create something new, and not to focus on the present. That is why I have found the people who run my company, while I was making plans for the future.
"Poor people have big TVs and a small library; rich people have small TVs and a huge library "
My mother in childhood has taught us not to follow the lives of others, and to live their own, for which I am very grateful. Now that you have your own children, I try as much as possible to spend less time watching TV and how you can devote more attention to the really useful works.
9. If people speak badly about you, prove that they are wrong
We are all familiar with the kind of people who sit on the tail of your success or failure and try to cash in on them. If you know that the criticism is not justified, do everything possible to prove it. Or just ignore these people.
10. Doing things you love and put a sofa in the kitchen
Life is given only once, so I'll do just what I like. I advise the same to you. Perhaps you're funny to hear it from someone who has your island in the Caribbean, but once almost my whole life was spent on the sofa in the kitchen. And even then I was happy.
The secret of happiness is simple: if you have a kitchen in which is placed a sofa, a bedroom and a person whom you love, everything else is not so important. However, if in addition to that you are doing what you really like, the result will exceed all expectations.
